Customer service says Medi-Cal (Medicaid program in California) does not qualify for Internet Essentials program
Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid health care program. Since Medicaid is a qualification for the Internet Essentials program, I submitted my application with an image of my Medi-Cal card. The application was declined and when I contacted customer service they said Medi-Cal does not qualify and I would need proof I was enrolled in Medicaid. I explained California doesn't have Medicaid, it has Medi-Cal and the representative said then I do not qualify.
I was wondering if anyone else in California was successful at signing up for Internet Essentials with Medi-Cal? Any tips if you were?
My question to Comcast, why don't you accept California's Medicaid program (Medi-Cal)?

Hello and Happy Thursday, user_6e0e48! I hope you’re having a great week so far! I also appreciate you taking a moment out of your day to reach out to us on our Community Forums! You’ve reached the best place and perfect person to help with virtually all of your account needs!
Going forward, thank you sincerely for taking the time to provide this feedback for us in regard to the application process you experienced with our Interest Essentials services. I know that situations like this can be frustrating to say the least especially since Medicaid is generally accepted as one of the approval factors.
Is there any way you can reach out to your Medi-Cal provider so that they can provide further proof of documents correlating the two together etc? Also, did our Internet Essentials representative provide any further information or workaround for this process?
