Customer rentention

I currently pay $154 a month for 1.2 g internet on a plan that doesnt exist anymore. Xfinity boasts a 5 year $50 a month 1g plan for new customers. Frontier fiber just went live in my area and offers 1g internet free for 3 months and $50 a month following that. I can't stay with xfinity and pay triple for internet that has a much slower upload speed. Why is the 1g plan double the price for an existing customer
