Contradictory service updates

We're receiving contradictory updates on interrupted service in our area. Some are saying that the service work (started yesterday) is over, others say it is still underway. We work from home frequently, so we would like to know a real timeline for when the work will be over rather than "we hope it will be done in a day" or words to that effect.

user_p2tyve I appreciate you taking a moment to create a post and do apologize that we wouldn't have any additional details for the enhancement work or an ETA when it would be completed. We would see the same details on what work is being completed and estimated timeframes as the Xfinity app or through notifications. I just recently had the work completed in my area, and it did take roughly a week to complete, though it can differ depending on the area.

I guess I wonder then why the initial email we received suggested that the work would (or could) be finished in a day, or why we can't get a more realistic assessment. The times at which our internet service is out seems to be pretty hard to predict so far as well. It was restored at 10 PM last night, which seems well after the point that any physical work would be going on. A little more information would be really helpful and make me more likely to stick with Comcast as more options are becoming available in my area.

Hello @user_p2tyve, Thank you for sharing your concerns, and I truly understand how frustrating this experience has been. I apologize for the confusion caused by the initial communication and the unpredictability of the service interruptions. While our goal is always to resolve issues as quickly as possible, sometimes unexpected factors can affect the timeline, including work that continues outside typical hours.

So should I try to talk to someone actually doing the work, if I happen to see them in the neighborhood? That sounds like the only way to get an answer, given that internal communication is apparently non-existent at Xfinity/Comcast.

We would be unable to confirm if any of the contractors in your area would have specific details on when the work will be completed. We would recommend continuing to check your email or text message notifications for updates on the work being completed. As this is where we will continue to give you updates on the enhancements in your area. We truly appreciate your continued patience.
