Comcast yard mark outs
My yard was recently marked by Xfinity for underground cable work, likely related to my new neighbor’s service. However, there is already an existing cable box located much closer to their property. It’s partially covered by a bush, so I believe technicians may have missed it during their assessment.
Because of this, I don’t think it’s necessary for my yard to be marked or disturbed. I’m requesting a review of the area so unnecessary digging can be avoided, and the markings in my yard can be removed if they’re not needed.
Thank you for your help with this.
Best regards,

Hi there Tina! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to Xfinity Support this morning! We are so glad to hear from you and want to assist in any way that we can to ensure you are having the best experience with your service. No worries! You have reached out to the best team to get things ironed out for you. We understand your concern regarding the recent markings on your property for underground cable work, especially given the presence of an existing cable box closer to your new neighbor's property and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It could be possible that the existing infrastructure was overlooked during the initial assessment due to it being somewhat concealment. Also, that could be a box not at all related to cable services. If it is closer to the residence, it most likely has to do with the electrical wiring.
Please be aware that telecommunication companies, like Xfinity, often have a "right of easement" across properties. This legal right, typically established during the development of a neighborhood or through a separate agreement, grants the utility permission to access and maintain their equipment on private land for the purpose of providing service to the community. While we strive to avoid unnecessary disruption, the right of easement allows us to perform necessary work, including marking and digging, to install or repair underground cables. However, we are committed to exercising this right responsibly and will prioritize solutions that limit impact on your yard whenever possible.
So that I may fully access your account, I would like to shoot you a 6-digit security code. This will be sent to the cell number or email address we have on file for you. Is now a good time to send that to you?
