Coax to fiber upgrade

Comcast is upgrading the coax feed into our condo from coax to fiber optic.

  1. Will the new fiber splitter connect the ingress fiber cable to the existing inside coax?
  2. If so, what is the likely model of the connector that replace the current COMMSCOPE CSMG2/ coax splitter?
  3. If not, will Ethernet be required to replace the existing inside coax?

trying to get information about fiber installation construction activation from anyone in  Xfinity/Comcast is a joke.  NO one follows up or provides informed information

Hi there, we completely understand how frustrating that’s been, and we’re really sorry for the experience you’ve had trying to get answers.

 

To be fully transparent, we don’t have access to detailed timelines or status updates for fiber construction and activation at this time. Those projects are handled by specialized construction and planning teams, and updates aren’t always available on the customer-facing side.

 

Because of that, there isn’t anything we’d be able to pull up or review on the account that would provide more detail right now. We know that’s not ideal, and we truly wish we had more concrete information to share.

 

We do appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience, and your feedback around communication is absolutely valid.

I understand that you cannot answer specifics on the project at my site.

Backing away from my original question, what are some examples of the solutions that Comcast has implemented in other coax to fiber upgrades?
