Coax cable install

Hey,

I just moved into my place a few months ago. I got Xfinity Internet service a few days ago. But just realized that I don’t have a coax cable port inside my house.

How do I go about this?

Thank you

Hello, @user_4ba2b4! Welcome to the Xfinity family! Thank you for connecting with us here on our forums community! We are happy to help you with options on how to connect your cable service. You have a few options. You can have a tech out to install the cable outlet for a fee. You can swap out your cable box to a wireless one if you also subscribe to internet with us. The last option is to return the cable box and move to just streaming service with us without the equipment. Are any of these a good option for you?

@XfinityLinda How much is the fee?

Or is it easier to get AT&T. I think everything is setup for that.

Great question @user_4ba2b4 happy to help you. Just to clarify your home has no coax cable and you need to have one installed for you to use service. Reading your first post that is what I gathered. For you to use any of the services mentioned above you will still need to have at least one wired connection for your modem and TV service to work properly. We are happy to go over all options with you for your protection privately. Please send us your full name and complete address in a message. Here is how you can do so:

(Full credit to @BruceW for this excellent explanation!)

"Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

  •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

  •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

  • Press Enter to send it
