Canceling my service

I need to cancel my internet service, and can't talk on the phone to do it. When I brought this up to the billing chat agent and stated that it was an accessibility issue, I was turned away again and again and told to wait for a call. So is it literally impossible to cancel service without a phone call? That is absolute, completely mind boggling. By far the most infuriating customer service encounter I've ever had in my life.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there, user_li5miq, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your account. We are sad to hear about you wanting to leave Xfinity. However, you have reached the right place and I can definitely help with getting this completed for you. Please send us a Direct Message with your full name and address.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

This number you provided only goes to an automated service that forces you to enter a chat via a text link no matter what option you choose. Then those reps in text chant call you so you have to demand they schedule you for a callback otherwise good luck texting while trying to get things done quickly and efficiently with a company that lacks both along side a lack of ethics. Shame! I canceled and am still getting a bill even though they underserved me for over a year despite my many call complainting of the services. Only to find out that the wires were old and not being maintained to provide me the service I was paying for. Imagine paying for 20 gallons of gas at a station that has a pump to only serve you 5 gallons.
