Cancel a $20 monthly charge for NOW TV

Hi, I reviewed my latest bill and noticed a $20 monthly charge for NOW TV.

I'm a new graduate student at the University of Washington (UW), and I just moved to Seattle this September. When I signed up for Xfinity Internet, the staff member told me that I was eligible for a student discount, which would give me 1 Gig internet for just $45 per month.

However, I recently noticed that my bill is $68.70, including an additional $20 monthly charge for NOW TV. I don't recall agreeing to subscribe to this service, as I only intended to sign up for the $45/month internet plan.

Could you please help me:

  1. Cancel NOW TV while keeping my current $45/month internet plan and all existing promotional discounts.

  2. Review the NOW TV charges and issue a refund or bill credit, since I wasn't aware of this additional subscription.

I would also appreciate it if you could confirm that my future monthly bills will be $45 after removing NOW TV, with no other unexpected charges.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hey @Paipi, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. If you have an active subscription to the NOW TV streaming service, you should be able to quickly and easily remove the streaming service via our Xfinity StreamStore.

You should be able to visit our Xfinity StreamStore portal by clicking here and logging in with your Xfinity ID. If you happen to subscribe to multiple streaming services, we also recommend taking a look at our streaming service bundles to see if you can save by bundling the services.

I clicked “Remove” on this page, then clicked “Next” in the bottom-right corner. It then took me to a page that says “Let’s review your order.”

Do I need to click “Submit My Order” to complete the cancellation?

I've already clicked “Submit My Order,” and the confirmation page showed that my monthly bill would be $45. However, when I go back to the “My Account” page, it still shows $68 per month instead of $45.

Why hasn't the amount been updated? Does it take some time for the change to take effect?

I just received the updated order confirmation, but I'm a little confused about why my monthly bill for next month is now showing $35 instead of $45. I thought my internet plan was supposed to be $45 per month.

Could you please explain why the price has changed?

Awesome! Glad to hear the online ordering worked @Paipi. You may be seeing prorated charges and more as changes are being made in the middle of the billing cycle. You will need to wait for the next service bill which will generated prorated charges/credits for the services, then the bill after will have the Internet only charges/taxes.
