CableCARD activation site unreachable

Like many others, I am unable to access the CableCARD activation web site: https://cablecardactivation.xsp.comcast.net/

I know what the problem is:  Comcast screwed up the DNS for their own server.

cablecardactivation.xsp.comcast.net is a CNAME record pointing to cablecardactivation.g.app.cloud.comcast.net.

cablecardactivation.g.app.cloud.comcast.net is an A record pointing to 10.54.190.245.

10.0.0.0/8 is unrouteable private address space.

If you know anything about TCP/IP networking, you'll instantly recognize the problem.

If you don't, please forward my message to somebody who does.

I got lucky.  First rep I spoke to was clueless, but they knew enough to know they didn't know, and forwarded me to somebody who could help.  Second rep handled the activation.

Problem solved with one call.  Overall I'd call it a successful customer service interaction.  In my 20+ years as a Comcast customer, such successes have been rare, and should be celebrated when they occur! :-)

Like many others, I am unable to access the CableCARD activation web site ...

Even when the site was accessible years ago, it never worked for me. What I've always had to do is what the poster in https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/nonx1-service/cablecard-activation-page-not-working-new-thread/642b71a94d04032f946151e6?commentId=642e16990edf624dbe0a21d2&replyId=6434d76d0edf624dbe0ab419 did: keep trying, and trying, and trying until you get a phone or chat rep who knows how to activate a CableCard. Where CableCards are concerned most Comcast reps simply do not know what they are doing, or are deliberately trying to kill off CableCards and the devices that use them.
