Hi there @Aube24! Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to Xfinity Support. We are so glad to hear from you and want to assist in any way that we can. No worries! You have reached out to the best team to get you the info you are looking for. Having to pay for service to be installed after being told there was prior service can be a cause for concern. It sounds like you may not be within distance to a utility pole. The previous owner's account status is not a guarantee of active service infrastructure at your address. While your home may be in a service-eligible area, an active connection requires a physical line to be run from the utility pole to your house. The standard installation fee covers the labor and materials for a typical connection, but when the distance from the pole to the house exceeds a standard length, additional construction work is often required to extend our network, and these "non-standard installation" costs are passed on to the customer. We can certainly take a closer look at this for you. Please feel free to shoot us a private message with your details so that we can get started.
