cable line removal

Hi there, on our home is an inactive, cut xfinity cable coming from the electrical hanging lines to our home that has been there since we moved in. We are hoping to get the wire taken down, as it is an eye sore from the street, but are unsure of how to coordinate this and if this would be free of charge to have it removed. Anyone have any information they can offer or recommend who to contact? thanks!

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello @user_SJ and thanks for your post. We are happy to put in a request for our field techs to see if removal is a possibility. We will need to gather some details from you in private. Please send us your full name and complete address in a Direct Message. Here is how you can do so:

(Full credit to @BruceW for this excellent explanation!)

"Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 • Press Enter to send it

Hey! You are in the correct place to discuss removal of the line. :-)
