Cable line burial
Hi, my internet and cable TV are working fine.
I'm writing because I'd like to get my overhead service line buried. My electric service line was recently converted to underground and I'd like to do the same with my cable line.
I'm in Pittsfield Twp, east side of Ann Arbor. Line runs from the back corner of my lot about 70 ft to my house.
Is there any cost for this? What's the best way to proceed?
Thanks!

Hello @a_butler01 and thank you for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forum!
This is an excellent question!
The cost for having this done can vary, depending on what's actually needed. To get started we would need to schedule a tech to come evaluate your location. There is a 1x non-refundable fee for this visit in the amount of $100, which you would be responsible for regardless of whether the work can be completed. The fee may not be the complete cost.
What the tech will do when they come out is as follows:
- They'll discuss the request with you.
- They'll look at the existing lines and your utility set up.
- They'll explain what they find.
- They will move the cable line if possible and add a temporary connection to replace the aerial line.
- They will submit a request to have the temp line buried, if needed.
- If for some reason the line cannot be moved, they will advise you of this during the visit.
Please note: Certain weather related issues can delay the work.
Please let us know if you would like to proceed, and we can provide additional instructions to you so we can move forward.
