Cable bury team cut water main

The cable bury subcontractor sent by Xfinity to complete our internet installation cut our water main in the process.  After several hours of work and two attempts, they pronounced it fixed and left us a phone number in case of problems.  The repair failed by the next morning, and we were forced to cut off our water.  Having lost confidence in having cable buriers make water main repairs, we called our licensed plumber of record.  The plumber stated that the repair had been made incorrectly, documented the failed repair and fixed the break successfully.  Seeking contact information for reimbursement of repairs.  What is the process?
