Awful Phone Customer Service Experience

I had a very unhelpful phone conversation with a phone representative from Xfinity yesterday. I felt spoken down to and upsold. After speaking to a representative in person, I can confirm that I was being upsold and lied to. I called to ask questions about cancelling my service, as I am moving within the next month, and I was fear-mongered by Gugun that my price was about to double the next month and that if I did not agree to a better "promotional deal" over the phone in that moment, I would have to pay the higher price.

He repeatedly spoke over me and kept repeating mathematical calculations at me to try to prove why the offer was a better deal, but it was unhelpful and unnecessary and instead felt like a way to confuse me into believing he was in fact giving me a better deal. When I told him I was not ready to agree to anything and needed to talk to my roommate before signing up for anything, he was extremely cagey about sharing any information about the "promotional deal" for me to take in store to get further information. That was directly because the "deal" he was trying to get me to agree to was absolutely an upcharge.

When I went to the Xfinity store and spoke to a representative there, she was able to confirm that my price was not actually about to go up, and I was easily able to initiate the cancellation. I was in and out in 10 minutes, and it proved that Gugun was absolutely trying to upsell me. It was predatory and unprofessional.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there, @user_2tzi0k, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your customer experience. This is definitely not the customer experience we want you to have. I would be happy to submit feedback for the agent you spoke with. Was everything resolved with your account concerns?

Not by Gugun. I had to hang up eventually because we were just talking in circles, and I was not getting the answers I needed. I was able to get the concerns resolved in store later that day, though.
