Awful Experience - Service Outage for Upgrades
Apparently Xfinity is conducting service upgrades in my area; however, neither my wife nor I received any notice from Xfinity about this work. The language the digital assistant provided regarding the outage reads like this is planned work, not some unexpected issue:
"We’ve started work in your neighborhood to enhance the Xfinity network. You’ll experience service outages during this time. We anticipate completing our work within the day. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience. We will text you when it is resolved on the following number: (redacted). If you would like to be texted using a different number, please visit the Xfinity outage map. To ensure you receive the appropriate outage text alerts, you will need to make sure you're signed in."
I work from home, an outage like this has impacts to my workday and to my wallet since I now have to try and use my hotspot to work. If I received some kind of notice, I could plan for this but now I'm stuck trying to adapt and spending my money for Xfinity's lack of care for me as their customer.

Hey @user_wffje0 , Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience regarding the service interruption. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you. Emails are sent out when network upgrades start in the area. The message on them is what you have stated. During the time period this work is taking place over the course of a period of time there can be the interruptions of service. We are happy to issue feedback to have it more dialed down to the day this will be happening for planning.
