ACP to Internet essentials transition without mobile service

Good day, 

We are on ACP, which is about to end, thus contacted Xfinity (chat) to assist with switching to Internet essentials 50Mbps $10/m plan.

Representative confirmed we were eligible, but told that in order to make a switch, we need to add mobile service. We did not want any mobile services etc, so asked to just do home Internet plan adjustment. He explained this mobile service had to be added.

I agree initially, since there was no extra cost 1st year and it could be cancelled without penalty. But then he found out that both of my phones were incompatible with Xfinity and offered new phone with 2 year contract, which I definitely did not need.

My question is: can we switch from ACP to Internet Essentials WITHOUT adding any extra services (mobile etc)? Just home Internet 50Mbps $10/m, nothing else nothing more? And if so - who can help us to make that switch?

The problem is being resolved.

I appreciate a lot Xfinity customer service team, their full effort to help.

For those who have a similar problem: it is NOT required to subscribe to Mobile service, in order to switch to Internet essentials from ACP.

Kostic I'm so happy our team was able to help get you set up on the Internet Essentials plan. And to confirm, you do not need to enroll in Xfinity Mobile when moving to the Internet Essentials internet plan.
