xFinity dropping YES network on 3/31/25, but what about MLB Extra Innings in IL?
We were watching the Yankees game via the YES network on 3/30 via the MLB Extra Innings package here in IL. We buy into it so my husband, a diehard NYY fan, can watch the games here. The announcers mentioned that xFinity/Comcast will be dropping YES as of 3/31 due to failed negotiations (xFinity wanted to force it to a higher priced package and Yankees refuse). Obviously this means east coast people that get YES will not anymore, but what about people like us that can only get it for the games in MLB Extra Innings? Are we losing it too? And if so, is there a way to cancel the subscription since the only reason we have it is for YES network? I know we could watch it on the opposing team’s channel, but the whole reason was to watch YES like we could in CT.

Won’t affect anyone out of market. Comcast doesn’t directly provide the feeds for MLBEI.

It is ridiculous that Comcast won't cover the YES network in basic; they also don't give you MSG--so no Yankees; no Knicks and no Devils--so who needs Comcast/ Xfinity--time to switch to Verizon or some provider that provides all these as part of the basic package--I am paying more than$300 and I am grandfathered. this is a racket that these networks will pay for--they will lose customers and then beg for you back--what nonsense--it's really gouging and disgusting

Ridiculous as you took away msg with no Knicks/rangers as no no more yes. Everyone should no longer use Comcast & get YouTube tv with other streaming services that have yes & msg.

You want to move YES to a higher priced tier but not moving SNY to a higher tier as it seems Comcast owns an 8% stake in SNY through its NBC Sports Group subsidiary. This is beyond frustrating. It seems no agreement will be made so what do customers get in reduced fees & anything else or will we each have to call xfinity to find out?

The only reason to have cable for me is to watch yankees games. Take them off and camcast will be canceled.

Comcast Xfinity should just move SNY to the higher tier like they’ve done with NBC Sports Bay Area which they own and that way they’ll be consistent that way the whole preferential treatment argument goes away and then maybe deals can get done still cheaper then being forced to buy Gotham Sports and YouTube loves to drop RSN on a dime. Fios would cause me to lose my local channels from Philly I like getting channels from both markets.

Hey Comcast. Thanks for confirming what "Corporate Greed" really means. You could care less about the Yankees fan base. The fact that you are allowing the Mets/SNY station to remain on basic cable underscores how corrupt and underhanded you business model operates. Goodbye Comcast/Xfinity, you charge too much anyway. You are destroying Sports across the country for people who are NOT rich and can't afford to attend the games.

I pay 300 a month and now I have to pay even more for the YES station. I've been a customer for a long time and it's not right your taking more and more away from your loyal customers. I will be dropping Comcast. Thanks for nothing....

We're in the same boat. We pay over $350 per month for Comcast (and that's because the service our homeowners association offers is terrible). We opted to stay with Comcast and now, because they don't carry the YES network, we subscribe to MLB Extra Innings at an additional cost. I'm following this threat to find out what happens. If they no longer carry YES on the MLB Extra Innings, I will be cancelling and settling for a lesser product but, there' will be no further reason to stay with Comcast.
