WHY IS COMCAST CHANGING TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES TO SPORTS PACKAGE IN OCTOBER?
I just received a notice from Comcast that they are removing TCM, Turner Classic Movies, from all current packages and moving it to the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE? What possible logic is there to that brilliant change? TCM is widely viewed by many Comcast subscribers on their regular packages--NOT SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE! I URGE COMCAST TO LEAVE TCM WHERE IT IS. I am seriously considering cancelling my Comcast subscription over this.

Extremely unhappy that Turner Classic Movies was taken out of our package and is only available in a Sports package - REALLY ? I understand why so many people I know have cut the cable !

How does Comcast get away with taking a channel TCM away ?
My bill didnt go down, but the channel is gone and now requires a monthly fee...
this breaks my contract with them as they have changed the arrangement under which I entered.

I think this is a bad move by Comcast.
My service now has dropped, but my billings havent...
They want 9$ a month now for that channel. I wont pay it.
I pay for so many channels I dont use, and now they harvest the ones I do.
Time for ala carte cable....
google tv, here I come.

I agree. I'm an older adult and like old movies. I guess I'm not one of the main demographics they care about. TCM was one of the few channels I watched frequently. As Comcast removes the stations I like there is no longer any reason to continue with them. We presently have triple play. We have considered getting rid of our land line but as Comcast keeps moving channels to higher tiers or removing stations we watch it is just about time to cut them out completely.

I noticed the "we want to know what you think" department of Comcast has shut of replies and comments on one of the TCM related threads.
I guess that says it all..

Turner Classic Movies is a favorite amount Senior Citizens ... those that remember the movies when they were first released. Senior Citizens are those who can not afford to continue to pay ... pay ... pay Xfinity. Especially for a bunch of sports channels. We are paying over $250 per month .... $10 more dollars to view only 1 more channel is bordering on robbery. Put TCM back where it belongs.

I am voicing my anger and dissatisfaction at the arbitrary and unexpected decision of taking TCM from my programming unless I pay for a stupid sports pkg. When I first signed up for Comcast my first request was a pkg with TCM. This program change is largely discrimination against seniors who may be as I am on a fixed budget. One of my only extravagances is my Xfinity account which already costs $145 a month just for tv and net with the basics which included TCM. This program change is greedy and very poor customer service. It may be the time for me to change vendors when my contract expires. Comcast really must rethink this bad business choice, especially since I as a loyal customer in good payment standing had NO choice in the matter. This was a rotten thing to do by Comcast.

That's how the cable companies do it, put all the good channels on a higher tier to squeeze more money out of their customers. To make up for all the customers they are losing.

My TCM Channel no longer works. I watch this channel alot (about 75% of my viewing) - I pay my bill on time and have been a very long and loyal customer not to be treated like this! What happened?

So this is what happened. I lost this channel too - I have been a very long and loyal customer and pay my bill on time (which is not cheap), I am retired and this is not a good way to treat long time and loyal customers. Not Good by Comcast!
