WHY IS COMCAST CHANGING TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES TO SPORTS PACKAGE IN OCTOBER?
I just received a notice from Comcast that they are removing TCM, Turner Classic Movies, from all current packages and moving it to the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE? What possible logic is there to that brilliant change? TCM is widely viewed by many Comcast subscribers on their regular packages--NOT SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE! I URGE COMCAST TO LEAVE TCM WHERE IT IS. I am seriously considering cancelling my Comcast subscription over this.

TCM being moved to force retired people on fixed incomes to have to pay more if they want to continue to view the channel. This is the second channel that has been removed within the last few months. Are you going to lower my rate accordingly. I don't watch sports, never have and the sports channels are the most expensive channels for customers that we have to pay for even though many don't watch these channels. You are forcing people on fixed incomes to have to look for other option that fit their fixed income budget. I am locked into a package that I can not remove for another 10 months, once that has expired, I will be saying good bye to Comcast. You are no longer customer friendly or caring for those that have been with you for many years.

I'm sure like many customers, I found out this morning that TCM is no longer included with my package. Like most people my bill goes directly to my credit card and since I have made a 2 year commitment, I really have no reaon to check my bill. Your statements that the average Comcast customer watched only 2 films per month is a stretch. I can tell you I watch infinitely less sports.
You know, I can save you some REAL money. Just stop paying the sports franchise fees as see how fast your costs come down. Make the people who want sports pay full freight. Go to ala carte pricing, or lose your customers to cord-cutting. Or just bring back the one channel that doesn't have anything to do with sports. Good luck, you'll need it.

I protest the moving of TCM to the Sports and Entertainment Package. It does not belong there.
You are showing your lack of culture and appreciation of movie history by doing this. Please move it back to the Digital Preferred list.

TCM fans: To send a message directly to Tom Karnishak, Executive VP of Customer Service:
1. Sign into your account
2. Click on “Support” at the top
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page
4. In first column on the left, click on “Contact Customer Support”
5. Scroll down to “A Message from Tom”
6. At the bottom of the paragraph, click on “Read a Letter from Tom”
7. Scroll to the bottom, to the final paragraph
8. Click on link “Contact me”
In one month, if Management refuses to come to their senses and restore TCM to basic cable with no increase in price, I’m buying a Hulu- or Sling- compatible TV for a couple of hundred dollars to download Hulu or Sling for TV. Frontier will be my new Internet provider. I’ll save $1,200 a year.
This reminds me of the hubris exhibited by Enron at the beginning before they entered the meltdown stage. The violations may be different but both grew out of the same cause. Enron had contempt for their investors; Xfinity has contempt for their customers.

AGREED!!!!!
I'd assumed TCM's viewership had increased....and, someone was attempting to profit from the situation.
I'm expecting an overall rate-increase soon....what always seems to happen whenever I've "lost" channels in-the-past.

This is a quote from the "Letter From Tim:"
"Hello, I'm Tom Karinshak, Executive Vice President, Customer Service at Comcast. As a Comcast customer, you are priority number one. "
Apparently we've been demoted to priority number two, or lower. Why in the world would you move TCM to a subscriber based package, and put it with sports, of all things? This is going to rank up there in the top ten of the most ludicrous things you've ever done. Not that you'll care, but you'll be shedding subscribers, including this one at some point. I'm came to Xfinity from AT&T Uverse and purchased my current package specifically so we could have TCM. Now, I have to pay another $10 month. Oh, it's okay to have a zillion home shopping channels, no problem there.
Please remove or revise that letter from Tim Karinshak...it's very misleading.

So this is what happened last nigh and today:
The Xfin Assistant did not connect me with Agent to Chat. Several attempts failed.
Xfin has removed TCM Turner Classic Movies from my package and tells me to Subscribe to the new Sports and Entertainment for $10/Mon!!!!
The Agent last night says basically it is corp and sorry..
TELL CORPORATE COMCAST THAT TCM WAS FINE.
I DON'T WANT SPORTS... AND I DON'T WANT CNN MSNBC SO TAKE THOSE SHOWS OUT AND GIVE ME BACK TCM!
There was no warning or messages or anything. Wasted time resetting system..
I SAY SEND COMCAST EXECUTIVES LETTERS AND CUT THE CORD!

Don't understand how I can be held to a 2-year contract and yet Xfinity can remove channels at will. TCM is one of my favorites, and I will definitely be leaving Comcast (after 30 years) ASAP.

I am thoroughly disappointed with Comcast once again. Moving TCM to a sports package will probably be the last straw for me. I've read some of their explanations for the move however we all know it's just another way to increase revenue. It's time to start looking in earnest for a change in providers. There are enough options out there now to be competitive.
I've been a Comcast customer for 10+ years and subscribe to bundled services with them. I really enjoy TCM but am not a big sports fan. Therefore this switch makes no sense for me. So I guess it's time to put my money where my mouth is and find a provider who might care a little more about their customers.
