WHY IS COMCAST CHANGING TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES TO SPORTS PACKAGE IN OCTOBER?

I just received a notice from Comcast that they are removing TCM, Turner Classic Movies, from all current packages and moving it to the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE?    What possible logic is there to that brilliant change?  TCM is widely viewed by many Comcast subscribers on their regular packages--NOT SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE!  I URGE COMCAST TO LEAVE TCM WHERE IT IS.  I am seriously considering cancelling my Comcast subscription over this.    Get real Comcast and leave TCM alone.  Seriously!

I just wanted to add my voice of disappointment for the recent channel change involving TCM. This is one of my preferred channels and will affect my Comcast decisions going forward. I have been a loyal Comcast customer for many years but these moves require me to look at the growing list of viewing alternatives.

Very disappointed in Comcast I feel cheated that I agreed to by a triple play pkg for 24 months and was told that It would include TCM and now mid Contract that is no longer included!  Very poor business practice!

So this morning, I have joined the club of irate TCM fans being abruptly cut off from one of the only channels I watch...of course I called immediately and was also informed my beloved TCM is now part of a sports pkg for an additional $10 a month when I’m already paying $125....!!!!

i don’t watch sports and am a hostage being in a community with no options to switch services which I would have done...

I’ve been watching TCM since it’s inception am a Backlot member even did their cruise....how can xfinity do this to its subscribers.

Surley you can’t be that cruel

I pay for the sports package and I can still get TCM on my x1 box- however I can't get it on my other TV with the digital adapter - WHY?

Thanks again Pete.  I have lobbied in D.C. and our legislature for reform.  As you know, it is a long, hard road to effect change.  There are bills pending in Congress right now regarding the numerous fees that Comcast and others tack on to monthly bills without adequate identification or justification.  The only thing that is really going to make Comcast take notice is a deep dent in their bottom line.  Best regards.

Are customers not allowed to discuss the TCM thing?

One of the only channels I watch consistently of the 260 I have access is Turner Classic Movies.  Today, I turn to TCM only to discover it is now a subscription chanel buried in a sports package.  So, let me understand this logic.  To get TCM I need to add a sports package that I will never use or care to use and increase the number of channels I have access and my bill by $9+.  How about this?  I will gladly unsubscribe to 150-200 channels to get Turner Classic Movies back in my lineup of channels.  My next step is to speak with one of your agents to begin exploring how I can accomplish turning off 100's of channels to get the sports package that includes TCM.  Based on post experience with Comcast I anticipate I will be told that that turning off 100's of channels is either not possible or will break the seal on my triple play package and therefore cannot be accomplished unless I increase my monthly price by "x" amount.  Thanks for nothing Comcast!!!  My disappointment in your service grows daily.  I trust you understand that your service moves are opening the door to competition.  Of course there is a Comcast team or consultant who did the analytics that showed your loss will be minimal for moving TCM to a subscription.  I suggest to my fellow TCM watchers that we flood Comcast with phone calls, letters, emails, tweets, etc. demanding that TCM be returned to the normal lineup.  To have the most impact I suggest you send these leters and emails to senior management and the Comcast Board.  My last comment/question is do I understand correctly that the Community Forum is going away on December 16th?  If that is true it speaks loudly and clearly to the the fact that Comcast does not give a rats bum about its subscribers and their likes, dislikes and opinions BUT loves our monthly subscription dollars.  Cha-ching for Comcast. Too bad, so sad for your subscribers.

Thank you Comcast for once again being the worst TV provider.  Why would you include TCM in a sports package!

I find it interesting that Xfinity has locked out additional comments of the move of Turner Classic Movie channel to a sports package. A cursory review of the list comments seem to show a majority disapproval of the move. I would be willing to pay for the TCM channel on its own, but why would I want a number of sports channels I will not watch? This is a common complaint amongst cable customers and is yet another example of a poor business model that promotes no customer loyality and bias for bottom lining it over customer satisfaction.

TCM is the only channel I watch and now you have taken it away. Do you really expect customers to cough up even more money? Whatever happened to the new Xfinity that was going to replace the disastrous Comcast, the most hated company in America?  This will be another nail in the coffin for cable TV.

We have endured rate increase and channels being moved to "premium" for additional monthly fees. until our monthly bill is nearly $200.  Now the loss of TCM is the end for us.  We will be moving to a different provider - this is simply unacceptable.   Comcast/Xfinity makes it very difficult to be a loyal customer - we have been with them for 30 years.

I'm sure like many customers, I found out this morning that TCM is no longer included with my package.  Like most people my bill goes directly to my credit card and since I have made a 2 year commitment, I really have no reaon to check my bill.  Your statements that the average Comcast customer watched only 2 films per month is a stretch.  I can tell you I watch infinitely less sports.

You know, I can save you some REAL money.  Just stop paying the sports franchise fees as see how fast your costs come down.  Make the people who want sports pay full freight.  Go to ala carte pricing, or lose your customers to cord-cutting.  Or just bring back the one channel that doesn't have anything to do with sports.  Good luck, you'll need it.

I live in Portland Oregon.  I used to have Turner Classic Movies and now I don't.  How do I add it to my channel line up?
