WHY IS COMCAST CHANGING TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES TO SPORTS PACKAGE IN OCTOBER?

I just received a notice from Comcast that they are removing TCM, Turner Classic Movies, from all current packages and moving it to the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE?    What possible logic is there to that brilliant change?  TCM is widely viewed by many Comcast subscribers on their regular packages--NOT SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE!  I URGE COMCAST TO LEAVE TCM WHERE IT IS.  I am seriously considering cancelling my Comcast subscription over this.    Get real Comcast and leave TCM alone.  Seriously!

Amen!!!! It’s the one channel I watch every single day of the week. Really. And today I get home and turn on the tv, switch to channel 896 and hmmmmm nothing. Called Comcast and they offered me the sports channel at an additional monthly fee. Ah no thanks. BUT the customer rep kept telling me she knew how I felt. Did she??? Time to investigate the other services out there.

Haha. I was told it a sports and ENTERTAINMENT package. I think she said there was two movie channels included. Haha. And one was probably TCM. So sad.

I agree Com Cast is making a stupid move.  TCM is one of the few channels my 90 year old mother enjoys.  If it is gone... I have no reason to keep comcast.  Next week, good by comcast bill.

What really ticks me off is I had no idea that they were doing this. I have spoken with 2 different techs today who seemed to be just baffled as to why I couldn't get TCM AND they're sending out a tech on Saturday. Neither of them ever mentioned TCM being moved. I'm am beyond livid.

This is truly sad! It's just one more reason to cut the cable and use other streaming services and/or go back to reading books. We looked forward to Saturday mornings with the old serials. Obviously we older customers on fixed incomes don't mean enough to Comcast. NO SHAME! NO LOYALTY!

I am also fed up with this company.    The offer poor customer service.  It s almost impossible to speak to anyone.  Now TMC is gone.  No reason to keep comcast.

So what the heck Comcast. What logical reason do you have for changing TCM to a sports channel I will never watch. This is a pretty low blow to try and get more money from your customers. I am so through with you Comcast. This tactic will only make you lose customers. Ugh !!!

Loosing TCM give me one more reason to disconnect and go to free tv. I believe I’ll have more channels. The only reason to have cable is the SIFI, Hist and Dis. TCM is a great lose to me.

With the competition from other carriers, who have TCM on their line-ups in non-sports packages, and rates that a very competitive now, and broader coverage areas, what was Comcast thinking?????  Especially so as the other carriers are basically all offering to cover any early contract cancellation fees?????  You'd think they'd at least have grandfathered the existing customers into keeping TCM in their line-up until their contracts expire.

We get a whole bunch of garbage stations we never watch like sports and foreign language stations because we have a "package".  Many years ago comcast did away with local 24 hour weather radar that I looked at daily..  Then they moved other stations we watch into "packages'.  Now they're putting a station we watch all the time (TCM) into a "sports" package?  i watch the Olympics every 4 years and the Army-Navy game every year..  Everyone else in sports is overpaid.  Who wants to watch that?

Comcast - go screw yourselves.  I've been a customer for a very long time, but I'm looking around.  Next time you hear from me it'll be to cancel phone, TV,. and internet..

Have a nice day.

I am tired of this nonsense and greed. I only watch TCM, not sports. They just lost a 30 year customer. If I can get TCM on streaming I will. Comcast you will be getting my boxes back soon. Thanks for screwing your loyal customers.

Like everything else with Comcast I found a hidden way to contact them direclty. On your account page go to Contact Us. At the bottom you will see a picture of probably not a real person Tom Karinstak who is some big wig in Customer Service. You see a link that says Read Tom's Letter, when you access that another link near the bottom of the letter says contact me. That will get you to a feedback form that supposedly goes to his team. I submitted my thoughts about TCM-gate and got an email response that assured me someone from Tom's team will contact me within 24hrs. I suggest everyone give it a try and flood him with complaints. I am sure it will be some kind of auto generated form response with the same blah blah blah in the Comcast Employee forum posts which are computer generated but figured it was worth a try.

So you’ve moved a non-premium channel (TCM) to a higher tier!  Why?  I am retired and on a fixed income and a senior citizen, which let’s face it, is the majority of those interested in this channel, and u put it in with the sports tier just to make even more money!  This can be considered ageism!  Shame on YOU!

I've been a very satisfied COMCAST customer since 1984 and I've always appreciated COMCAST customer service. I must say however losing TCM today took me quite by surprise! I missed the notification that I would lose my favourite cable channel. I am very sad. I do not care for sports so there will be no sports package at this residence. Have you thought about offering TCM with a BRITBOX package? That would be absolutely fabulous! Well worth the added fee. Please give another option aside from the sports package which is a no go for many of us.
I should hate to leave my wonderful COMCAST!
Thank you ever so.
