WHY IS COMCAST CHANGING TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES TO SPORTS PACKAGE IN OCTOBER?

I just received a notice from Comcast that they are removing TCM, Turner Classic Movies, from all current packages and moving it to the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE?    What possible logic is there to that brilliant change?  TCM is widely viewed by many Comcast subscribers on their regular packages--NOT SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE!  I URGE COMCAST TO LEAVE TCM WHERE IT IS.  I am seriously considering cancelling my Comcast subscription over this.    Get real Comcast and leave TCM alone.  Seriously!

Why don't you try and make ESPN a a la carte channel and see how many subcribe to it.  ESPN and similar channels are were all your programming cost are.  That no one watches TCM is manure (won't let me use the word Harry Truman used).  Just look at how many posts are in this thread.

I'm disgusted to find that Comcast has taken away yet another popular and unique channel in TCM. Pay more, get less is the company slogan. As soon as my contact is up, I'm switching to Verizon.

What a sorry answer. I see at last 20 music stations. I see a bunch of Hispanic stations that I am paying for and don't use.  I find it hard to believe that the population watches only 2 movies a month. This is my go to movie channel, because TCM shows older movies and has great intros about them, instead of all that drab on the other movie stations.  Your way of making us pay for all those sports that we don't watch to get us to get TCM is really low. I have been a customer since the beginning, and this just might now be the end. WOW is coming in, AT&T now can use your fiber optic lines, and maybe it's just time for a change. As more people start to realize this, you might just be thinking this move was not a good idea. You charge enough money as it is for what we watch. Pitiful

I pay all kinds of money to  suppport umpteen sports channels that I don't watch? Why screw customers loyal to a channel  -TCM - with an extra charge? Is the FCC awake and breathing? Perhaps the FCC leaders can't wait to jump over to Comcast when their terms are over? One person here made an interesting point-TCM has become more popular so Comcast's first reaction, 'lets charge the idiots more!' Of course no corresponding reduction for customers that don't watch football, a game that causes brain damage and costs Comcast a bundle. Is it possible the executives that approved this bone headed move played a lot of football without a helmet?

This is the dumbest move Comcast has made, they can have no logical explanation for this crazy money grabbing move.  Bring back TCM

Simply no logic in moving TCM to a sports package except to collect extra bucks. I will drop Comcast if TCM is not returned. More money fewer channels.

I AM FURIOUS!!!!! They remove TCM which is the ONLY REASON I got Comcast, and to get some cable news (FOX mainly) and NOW I HAVE TO PAY MORE FOR JUNK!!!!!!  I NEVER WATCH SPORTS.   Xfinity says only a FEW people watch TCM so it has to be EXTRA.   WHY NOT PUT IT INTO A MOVIE BUNDLE----STUPID move COMCAST INFINITY.

YES I agree with you.    TCM, Fox News, Discovery, History Channel and that is it.  I would like SCIENCE channel too but that costs over $30 more!!

TCM is the reason why I have Comcast/Xfinity......my tenant/roomate is a retired vet and he watches TCM all the time, and I do sometimes.

I am already paying $120 per month.    Perhaps Verizon is cheaper.....

Loosing TCM give me one more reason to disconnect and go to free tv. I believe I’ll have more channels. The only reason to have cable is the SIFI, Hist and Dis. TCM is a great lose to me.

Well, that pretty much is the last straw for me.  I'm going to do what all my coworkers have advised and i'll be cutting the cable and switching to hulu or another option.  You money grubbing swine can kiss off.

I found out that they are taking Turner Classic Movie Channel off at 2AM this morning.

When I called an agent, he explained that it has been moved to a SPORTS PACKAGE for an extra $9.95 a month.

That is certainly a kick in the teeth for TCM lovers.  Why watch classic movies when you can watch sports instead?

Comcast has no regard whatsoever to long -lasting and long PAYING, customers like myself! Comcast (or should I say Xfinity) has become a money-gobbling machine which people are learning to dislike intensely and mistrust.

Well,  I did remedy the situation by cancelling the expensive package I had and got a cheaper package (which excludes Showtime, Starz, and a few other channels). The new package was about $15 cheaper than the old one and I am not paying ONE DIME of extra money to get my favorite channel back on my TV.

LONG LIVE TCM!!!!  AND ALL ITS FAITHFUL VIEWERS!!!!

The answer to the question as to why they put the popular channel  TCM in a sports package is they want to reach deeper into our pockets to buy something we don't want to be able to watch what we have paid for, in my case 32years. Yet if you ask for the triple play special of $159.99 for 2 years and a $100 visa card they will say you can't change your contract. These greedy thieves have it both ways. I suggest everyone call them at least 3 times a day for at least a month to complain.
