WHY IS COMCAST CHANGING TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES TO SPORTS PACKAGE IN OCTOBER?

I just received a notice from Comcast that they are removing TCM, Turner Classic Movies, from all current packages and moving it to the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE?    What possible logic is there to that brilliant change?  TCM is widely viewed by many Comcast subscribers on their regular packages--NOT SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE!  I URGE COMCAST TO LEAVE TCM WHERE IT IS.  I am seriously considering cancelling my Comcast subscription over this.    Get real Comcast and leave TCM alone.  Seriously!

We are so disappointed in Comcast's removal of TCM. We only watch about 5% of what is offered in our package but TCM was one of those channels that made the cost worth it. We will be looking at other options with the constant rising costs and removal of our favorite channels. Very disappointed with Comcast!

Why did they take away my TCM? They never told me why and they keep making me pay more every month. Being on Social Security does not give me more to pay . How can I get my TCM back without paying more money as I have always had it in the past.

I don't think they are related at all... this is a nonsense move! I am not a sports person, and will not benefit from this change. I am sincerely disappointed in Comcast/Xfinity for taking away my Turner Classic Movies.

TCM was just removed here in the Baltimore area. Xfinity has no idea of the effect this has on an entire generation of people. Now I often watched as did my daughters who are millennials.
However, my mother-in-law who was in an assisted living community and 97 then later in a nursing home, loved watching as did others there. TCM brought back wonderful memories for those suffering with dementia and those who just miss the well scripted and acted movies from their generation .
Xfinity has no idea what taking this from the millions who rely on this one of few choices of entertainment. Those in these restrictive communities and those in their homes cannot go out to movie theaters. Some just stay in their rooms. Many cannot recognize family members from time to time but remember Irene Dunn or Alan Ladd in a movie or sing a long in a beautiful musical.
These communities will not pay that additional amount of money a month for a sports package.
Please reconsider and remember who you are effecting in your audience and the impact you are having in the lives of this great generation of people as well as the rest of us who treasure classic and wonderful movies that are often imitated but rarely replicated today.

I'm a little dissapointed (again) with XFinity because they always start you out with a list of channels and then just change things at will.  In this case, some of the Encore channels changed to Screenpix which looks to be a lesser quality channel.  On top of that the normal places I can go to find out what is on don't show any information so I'm blind as to what is playing.  Earlier this month or last, TMC was eliminated which I enjoyed and nothing replaced it.

I'm in agreement with others who are getting tired of XFinity just making changes at will.

So when will Screenpix show up on my TIVO menu??

Seriously!? I watch TCM almost daily, and could care less about any sports. And having TCM on demand is NOT the same thing. Believe it or not, not everyone watches sports, and could care less about sports.  I can't understand the idiocy for moving a movie channel (especially a classic movie channel) to a sports package. This on top of losing some of the Starz and Cinemax channels, I'm seriously considering looking elsewhere. I'm home all day and disabled. I enjoy watching old movies, and you decided to force our hands, to have to put out more money, to watch want we want. Cable is expensive enough, and if I can't watch what I want, there's no reason to keep it.

Yeah, I've gone off cable since this move. Comcast has offered the choice of paying more for less and people like me are saying no thanks.

But they're still the only game in town (my town, anyway) for good internet access.

In any case, I feel bad about how this TCM shift affected my parents. They're paying the additional $10 cost, even though that extra $120/year is a real expenditure. And while cutting off cable — and getting TCM elsewhere — works for me, it's fairly complicated and takes time to organize and understand. They can't do that. Hence, they're stuck. t's disturbing to imagine that Comcast understands this quite well.

It was removed months ago and notice was given on your billing statements that it’s now available with the Sports and Entertainment tier

Why on earth did Xfinity pull Turner Classic Movies from the basic package?  More importantly, why were we, the subscribers, not given any warning about this?  If enough people complain, will you put it back on the basic package? We already pay $229.00 a month for cable tv and internet, and now you want more? We actually have a top tier package, and I cannot believe TCM is not going to be part of it.  WE ARE PAYING YOU A FORTUNE!  This is terrible customer service, and clearly you do not care at all about your customers!!  I guarantee you are going to loose customers over this - as it is now, you cannot compete with the streaming services, as they are so much cheaper.  Because of this complete lack of caring and concern for customers, we will soon be joining the masses and cutting the cord, and I suspect cable tv will no longer exist in the next few years.  I hope Xfinity understands that they did this to themselves!

Why doesn't Comcast reinstate TCM to the basic package during the COVID-19 crisis?  Can't get any sports so why not do something for folks stuck at home?

You might want to update the title of your post to "TCM"

Comcast should reinstate TCM for a couple of months with everyone sitting @ home.

I am a new customer with Xfinity as of March 2020. I was highly unhappy to find out that TCM was placed as an added channel in a sports package for an additional charge (absolutely makes no sense). This was totally a bonehead move on the part of Comcast/Xfinity. I know the published logic behind this was that TCM did not have a large viewing base. Why not take some of the music channels that nobody listens to away instead. I understand that perhaps TCM might be included in a higher tier package but not with a premium add on at an additional cost. I know there has been a large number of subscribers that have voiced their displeasure over this decision. I am strongly considering canceling my subscription due to this as I love TCM as do MANY customers. I would hope that the powers that be would listen to the voice of their customers  as we pay your rent! Not cool Comcast/Xfinity!!!
