Why 3 of the same channels

I am in the process of creating my own Chanel lineup.  Why are there multiple elements of the same channel?  For example there are 3 Golf HD channels.  Why multiple?

One is probably SD, one is HD below 1000 (number will vary depending on where you live), and the other is the HD that is 1000+ (probably 1223). The 1000+ numbers are generally the same nationally, although 1000-1199 may vary as those are mostly local channels. The two HD's don't take up double bandwidth, as they are just two numbers pointing at the same feed.

Hi there @genec123! Thank you for reaching out to us here for help with your channel line up question.

There is a reason behind this and it is pretty simple. This was intentionally designed while we were planning the whole service. While you get enough channels on the SD Quality, there were not many HD channels out there at the time, yet there was a huge scope of these HD channels out there in the market.

So, we intentionally left some blank spaces with the groups of some empty channels so that they can fill out those gaps later when there is some new HD channel is released of the similar nature and type. That means all those duplicate channels you are streaming are the empty spaces that are to be filled in the future with more and more HD channels once they start streaming.

To avoid these channels going empty, your TV automatically tunes the channel space to the closest frequency and you see that the HD channels are being duplicated. If you feel like that might be a problem for you. You can block these duplicate channels manually and they will not show on the TV screen for you. However, you may also lose the chance of knowing if there is some New HD channel is released on that slot this way.

I hope this helps!
