When is Comcast going to address the Elephant in the room?.

With the loss of NBC sports Chicago channels moving to chsn and no plans to carry, and no credit to be issued for the loss of these channels, one would assume that you aren't interested in having Blackhawks bulls and White Sox fans use your service. If I have to move to another service to get this then I may reconsider my cable choices. Are you listening Comcast / Xfinity?

I’m with everybody else, I’ve been with comcast for almost 30 years and if I don’t get to see Hawks games when regular season starts , bye bye greedy comcast.

Hi there @user_46b4tj! NBC Sports Chicago notified Comcast and others that it’s ceasing operations on September 30, 2024. This decision is outside of Comcast’s control and was solely made by NBC Sports Chicago.

We offer a range of alternative content that may offer similar viewing options. Peacock, ESPN, Fox Sports 1, and CBS Sports Network offer a wide variety of sports programming. You can also say “sports” into your Xfinity Voice Remote to find other sports programming.

The Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago White Sox who were previously available on NBC Sports Chicago will now air on a new Regional Sports Network (RSN) called Chicago Sports Network (CHSN). Currently, both CHSN and over-the-air antenna channels 62.2 and 62.3 aren't available on Xfinity.

So, why hasn't this affected the regional sports fee? Didn't Comcast get in trouble back in 2017 because they were charging for items not received by consumers?

$19.20 every month for exactly what regional sports that I'm supposedly receiving?

When 3 of the 5 major teams disappear from the lineup, what do you expect people to say?

I’m another upset Comcast customer. Our Comcast bill is substantial, and as a huge sports fan, I’m very disappointed that Comcast hasn’t added the new Chicago Sports Network with the fall teams starting up this month. Please add CHSN otherwise we will consider switching to a provider that offers this new channel.

If there’s no Bulls games, I’m cancelling xfinity. It’s too expensive to not have all the access

Our triple play is the households second most expensive monthly bill and our WiFi service is beyond bad. Xfinity not expediting a deal offering CHSN will be the reason we cut the cord. The clock is ticking. I hope Xfinity is listening

You can watch tonights game and Thursday game on NHL center ice...it's the channels 3070 thru 30 something... Anyway, NHL Center ICE is free until OCT 18th. Channel 3072 will be what CHSN is showing... basically it's the CHSN feed. With Hawk announcers and post game show. It's been that way since OCT 11th.
After OCT 18th you can get Center Ice for $69 a season. I am thinking of getting it but waiting to see if CHSN makes a deal with comcast and it isn't too expensive. Anyway, you can get CHSN on Comcast now thru NHL Center Ice.

No you can’t.  They just imposed a blackout (as they’ve done for the Bulls).

Now we’re all [Edited: Language].

Is Comcast going to credit us for the loss of nbcs Chicago? And if not, why not? Can a Comcast agent answer that? Thanks. And for $25 you can buy an HDTV antenna and get CHSN and 89 other channels with great picture.  And Comcast does not care if they lose customers. When friends have called to “cut the cord” they are offered nothing to stay like in past. They realized they are in a failing business as streaming takes over. They just want to get the internet fees.

I totally agree!!!!!!

So I pay Comcast over $240.00 per month and I can't watch any Bulls, Blackhawks or White Sox games?  Ok, I don't really care about the White Sox, but this is untenable!  CHSN has made two offers to Comcast to pick up their network but Comcast hasn't even acknowledged them according to CHSN's president, Jason Coyle in the Chicago Sun Times this week.  This is so petty.  You are enraging so many sports fans that you can expect a mass exodus of customers.  If a deal can't be made with CHSN, I will be forced to end my relationship with Comcast.    If other Chicago sports fans are anything like me I'm sure that this won't only affect Comcast's Internet subscriptions; phone and internet service subscriptions will be lost as well.  Please make this right (without jacking up the high prices even higher).

I agree with Wlan_Guy.  I’m tired of Comcast blaming this on the “unexpected” loss of the old channel.  WE DON’T CARE ABOUT THE OLD CHANNEL!  There is a replacement available that you refuse to sign.  I pay a lot of money for my sports package and currently only have local access to Bears and Sky (who aren’t even playing now).  Where are my Hawks games?  Where are my Bulls games? I sure hope I won’t still be looking where to watch Sox games in 5 months!

I had a bad experience with Dish TV many years ago and, for that reason, have resisted moving my services to someone other than Comcast.  But this latest affront may finally be the last straw.

I obviously want CHSN to make a deal with Xfinity but I blame the owners of the White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks for picking such a poor choice to broadcast their games. Read Jeff Agrest in today's S-T about how small a company Standard Media is and how some cities have gone for YEARS without a deal to see some local teams. Standard Media is a subsidiary of Standard General according to Agrest. We are all in a box with no way out.  Maybe one day the owners will realize how wrong they were to do this deal and somehow come to their senses and get out of this deal. How long will we wait?
