What's happening to MeTV+ on channel 1167 in San Francisco Bay Area?

I went to MeTV+ to watch Hunter, and notice it showing a looping promo about Western TV channel starting sometime in September. It ends with a message to "rescan" for MeTV+, but doesn't explain what cable subscribers should do. Is MeTV+ being replaced or moved? Will Comcast/Xfinity still carry it in the San Francisco Bay Area?

that's a subchannel broadcast by one of your over the air tv stations. Xfinity just re-transmits what is being sent to them.

you should reach out to the appropriate local tv station in your area with your questions and concerns - it appears to be TV station KTLN

1167 is the Comcast/Xfinity in the San Francisco channel for MeTV+. Well, I should say WAS THE CHANNEL ON COMCAST/XFINITY FOR MeTV+. KTLN is the station for people who DOES NOT HAVE CABLE at all and using and antenna, here in in the San Francisco Bay Area.

That doesn't answer the question about channel 1167.  IP only delivery, do you mean streaming only? What does HD programming mean?  Your cable channels are already HD.  Is this content going to exist or not.  Metv+ isn't going away.

Hello @lr88, IP Delivered channels are specific channels that can only be watched with an X1 TV Box.  HD programming is a video format with a much higher image resolution than standard definition.  To find the Comcast channel lineup for your address, you can visit this link: https://www.xfinity.com/support/local-channel-lineup.

So, what will be new Comcast/Xfinity Channel for MeTV+ in the San Francisco Bay Area? When the West Network takes over 1167 which is now the Comcast/Xfinity channel for MeTV+ in the San Francisco. I would think there are people who want to watch Hunter, Police Story, Covert Affair, VIP, T.J. Hooker, etc.... By the way I'm NOT asking about over the air. I'm like some don't have an antenna and has Comcast/Xfinity.

According to the article, West will be broadcasting various classic westerns.

ALL of which are currently being broadcasted on various channels on Comcast!  No need for West to exist.
As usual, negative changes to Comcast yet constant price increases gives subscribers more reason to cancel Comcast and go elsewhere. The only entities that can get away with offering less yet charging more and still exist are the USPS and the CA DMV!

I definitely understand it can be upsetting when changes occrut to the lineups. We do also have situations where new content or channels are carried as well. We are always happy to take feedback forward though.

The September 2025 Xfinity cable TV bill for San Francisco indicated the Nosey talk show rerun subchannel (channel 171/KTVU+ channel 36.2) will end around October 29, 2025.   Another open Comcast channel to add all West, MeTV+ and MeTV Toons subchannels from the KTLN feed if both parties agree.    Right now, Comcast's Bay Area digital subchannel carriage is seriously lacking with unfilled channel space and carrying only about 10-12 subchannels out of the 100 subchannels broadcasting on over the air free tv
