@gsf1200s We appreciate your interest in the Story and Movies! channels. We provide messages on your statements about any upcoming changes to your programming. The content available is provided to us by the networks. The programming availability, pricing, and broadcast are subject to their discretion. I show in May a message went out on the statements that shows:  On June 25, 2024, KVOS-Story will be dropped from channels 344 and 1187 in your lineup. Also, on that date, KVOS-Movies! will be dropped from channels 343 and 1188 in your lineup.

There are several comments in this forum about Comcast providing content available from the networks being the factor in channel lineup.  The response I received from Movies! is " Comcast has made some changes in the Seattle area and Movies! and Story Television are not available on Comcast/Xfinity systems at this time".  I am trying to clarify that this was not a decision by "networks" and Comcast just providing what they can.  Comcast made the decision to remove these channels because they did not want to pay the broadcaster.

We noticed that too.  Was there any warning it would be removed?

No I saw nothing came home from work and the channel was missing. Luckily I had slme shows recorded from the day prior that was still there.

I can’t find 44.2  KFFV-DT2  MOVIES!, 44.3 KFFV-DT6  STORY, or the new channel 44.7 KFFV-DT7  METOON. How can Xfinity justify charging a Broadcast TV Fee then not including local broadcast channels in their channel lineup?

Thanks for reaching out about Movies! and Story, lburt! The channels have been removed from our lineup. I apologize as I know you liked to watch them. Bill messages went out on the May statement mentioning the change with that channel along with channel 343. The PDF or downloadable version of your statements found in the Xfinity app will show all billing details including messages with any upcoming changes. Check out our How it Works resource for some additional information on those kinds of agreements and how they can change.

Of course, our billing will be appropriately reduced as the result of channel(s) eliminated. Right? Back when "Mhz" channel was eliminated billing increased. Nobody - not on person - at the store would discuss it with me saying, "Contact he main office in Philadelphia." I attempted, to no avail - nobody willing to discuss it. Face it, Comcast/Xfiniti wants only to collect billings - nothing else. Xfiniti is a forager...

@user_7jjfgn The network may have pulled it. We promise the amount of channels in the subscription, and always add on more in case networks stop a channel or remove it. What happens when you search for the channel with the Voice Remote?

There is no longer a “Story Television” channel - gone, voice remote search or otherwise.

Too bad. It was the favorite of many of your customers. What will it take to get it back?

Xfinfity, you say that you sent a message with May statement. When we receive our statements, all we really care about is the amount. Who seriously reads the rest of the statement. Here's a suggestion, when you're gonna make a line up change, how about sending a separate message. That being said, I like the Story Television channel because the programs that were on were what the History Channel use to be. Now the programs that are on the History Channel are mostly so called reality shows. Not really historical information. And they aren't actually reality, producers set them up to what they think is reality.

So Heroes and Icons was replaced by a garbage Spanish language channel with no subtitles and now we have lost Story and Movies, but I still have all these craptacular sports and unsubtitled foreign language channels?

So the channel that I spent 90% of my time watching (StoryTV) goes *poof*. Warning or no, this is a deal breaker for me. What does it take for Xfinity to pick a network like this back up or offer as a premium?

@user_jpwbmj Thank you for taking the time out of your day to bring your frustration about this channel to our attention. I do understand where you are coming from as I myself have been affected by networks no longer providing us the ability to share their content with our customers. I would be happy to pass along this feedback or if you go to http://my.xfinity.com and scroll to the bottom there will be a link that says "Submit Feedback". That is where you will want to provide your feedback and suggestions.

Why do Comcast employees keep saying "networks no longer providing us the ability to share their content"?  Movies! responded to my email with "Comcast has made some changes to their lineup in the Seattle area".  It was Comcast who decided.  Please tell the truth.  Comcast decided not to renegotiate in order to save money- savings which is not being passed onto the customer.

There is no "Submit Feedback" link at the bottom of the page you referenced.  Please clarify.

So disappointed about the Story Channel being eliminated. I spent a good half hour of time calling Comcast to find out why it disappeared and of course I spoke to an agent in India who said she couldn't find that channel and had to record it it, BUT she was going to get it fixed and told me that they would have the issue fixed in 2 hours and I would get a text message letting me know. I got the text message that the problem had been resovled but of course the channel had not been restored.  It was only after searching on the internet that I found this message board that gave the explanation. NO one from Comcast could explain the reasoning by phone.  I spoke with their loyalty program asking if they would reduce my monthly bill and they tried to get me to sign up for their Verizon phone service and sell me a more exspensive plan. When I said, I just need a Yes or No answer if they could reduce my monthly bill and they replied no.  Way to go Comcast.

Hi there, @user_4iy3vg I'm very sorry for the experience you had, I can most definitely understand how frustrating this is for you. I do apologize as of June 2024, Story Television is no longer available on Xfinity systems. Xfinity sent out bill messages in May to inform customers of the change, and downloadable versions of statements in the Xfinity app also include billing details and upcoming changes I will be more than happy to review your account and see if we have any promotions that fit your needs. Please send me a DM with your full first and last name along with your full-service address so that I can assist you further.-Richard
