Solved: Stuck in Activate voice control menu but can’t select anything

Was setting up new tv/cable box/remote for MIL and had this issue.

I had the XR15 remote. And followed these steps:

XR15 Voice Remote (no Setup button, but has number buttons)

1. Press and hold the A (triangle) and D (diamond) buttons at the same time for three seconds until the light at the top changes from red to green.
2. Press 9-8-1.
3. The light will blink blue three times. Your remote is now reset.
