Seattle Mariners baseball TV channel

I am very frustrated with Xfinity cable TV.  I received an Xfinity email earlier this week telling me I could get Seattle Mariners baseball games on HD channel 1261 for free since it was included on my TV plan.  For the past 20+ years I have watched Mariners games on Root Sports channel at no extra cost, but this channel is no longer available.  When I went to Mariners TV channel 1261 it said I have to subscribe.  I thought that this must be an error on Xfinity's part since they sent me an email saying I get this new channel with my TV plan.  So I called Xfinity support and the agent I talked to said I had to change my TV package to the most expensive one ($35/mo additional) if I wanted this M's channel.  I said this must be a mistake since Xfinity sent me an email telling me that I could watch this new channel.  As a loyal Diamond Xfinity member (cable, internet, mobile) I feel like Xfinity may lose me as a customer due to actions and continuous price increases.  There are much cheaper TV options available from streaming services like YouTube TV with the same channels and DVR capabilities.  If Xfinity will not include this new Mariners TV channel to me at no additional charge then I will probably cancel ALL 3 of my Xfinity services.

At least you got through to someone in Xfinity Support that seemed to know what the Xfinity plan was.  I wasted hours yesterday talking to at least four different Xfinity Support agents - and none (!) of them had a clue what I was talking about.  My question was simple:  I have a TV Plus plan.  I wanted to know which Xfinity plans would carry 1261 Mariners TV and what it might cost.  None of them knew what I was talking about.  They all had to leave and talk to someone else, and when they came back, they all insisted they knew how to solve the problem.  But they really had no clue.  I was steered towards a MLB Extra Innings subscription, towards a different MLB channel entirely, to paying to upgrade my package and also paying for an MLB package, etc..  I suspect Xfinity had not gotten the word out or trained their support staff on how to deal with this simple question.  I still don't have an answer to my simple question!  And don't really have an interest in continuing to try over and over again to get someone that can actually help me.  So I feel your frustration.  I am leaning towards just going the streaming route for the Mariners - and as long as I'm going that far, I'll just keep going and stream my tv as well and eliminate Xfinity altogether.  I also have other options for internet, and will likely go in that direction as well.

You can sign up for MLB TV for less and have all MLB baseball games across the leage each day in the process.  In addition, they offer other content that is good as well.

This is ridiculous. Nothing is on channel 1261 tonight. MLB channel 407 says it's showing the Mariners game with Cleveland, but it is not . For a few innings it had the Mariners game on 1/4 of the screen, mostly without audio and with frequent random interruptions and screen freezes. Now it's showing some old documentary on Ken Griffey Junior. If your on screen guide is wrong or, frequently useless (TBA!) and your customer service reps are incapable of answering basic questions then what kind of service are you providing? I'm certainly not going to pay you more for what I should be getting already.

user_vf857y I understand how frustrating that experience is, especially when you’re expecting to watch a live game, and the channel and guide don’t match what’s actually airing. You’re absolutely right to expect better. I do want to clarify that the games, feeds, and last‑minute changes are controlled by the network, not by us. When there are rights restrictions or feed issues, the network may change or replace programming without advance notice, which can also cause the on‑screen guide to be incorrect. That said, the partial screen, audio issues, and freezes you described aren’t acceptable, and I’m sorry you experienced that. Is this happening on all channels? Or just channel 407?

After 2 plus hours talking to a very nice xfinity employee , then another, then another. They all acted like they did not have a
clue as to how I can get Seattle Mariner Baseball. Been with them 20 years plus. Finally, one employee said the only way
to get the games in Vancouver, WA was to sign up for MLB Extra Innings....did so at extra costs $149. Went to channel
3025 and got a message the  game was live but no picture or sound. Tried every combination with no results. Google said
MLB may be blacked out......told her about Mariners.tv.  ...she did not  know about that.

Hi @trinket910, thank for posting on our Xfinity Forums Community platform! We apologize for the experience you had. We can definitely understand how frustrating that must have been, especially after spending so much time on the phone and being a long‑time customer. We truly appreciate your 20+ years with us❤️

We also want to help clear up some of the confusion around watching Seattle Mariners games on Xfinity.

In the Vancouver, WA area, Mariners games are available through Mariners.TV, refer to this link, and it shows they play on those games airing on channel 1261, through us, when available. Blackout restrictions can indeed apply with MLB Extra Innings or the MLB app.

If you’re still not seeing the game there, or if the channel isn’t coming in as expected, please let us know — we’ll be more than happy to take another look and help get things sorted out.

We’re here for you!

WOW... Xfinity did a private chat with me about Mariners TV and it was a waste of my time! I don't understand why Xfinity continues to [Edited: "Language"] over its loyal 20+ year customers!  [Edited: "Solicitation"]

I have the mlb tv package. I cannot see tonight's Mariners game on channel 3025 which is the Mariner's channel, despite the agent telling me I can see Mariners games on 3025. I need channel 1261 to watch the Mariners games, which are called in market games. I got an email saying I do get 1261, but I don't get it. The agents I have spoken with are very nice but are clueless. I would rather talk with jerks who solve my issue.

I have the same problem.  I call in, wait on line for 20 minutes, only to be told that I have a subscription to the Mariners games on channel 3025 which does not work.  XFinity employees have no idea what is going on here.  It’s an absolute s&*$ show.

Xfinity is an excercise in futility.

Same situation here. I’ve spent close to 4 hours on the phone over the past 5 days with friendly but ultimately unhelpful agents trying to ‘subscribe’ to Mariners TV. Not sure what’s going on but the whole thing is maddening.

I have a better story: I was told I'd get MLB network and Mariners games for $37.50 total for the season! Turns out it was $150, and I'd get all MLB games EXCEPT local Mariners games... 1hr on the phone setting this up, then 1hr to cancel. I will be canceling all TV service after the NCAA championship. Unfortunately xfinity has a monopoly on internet in my area... The day that changes I will cancel internet as well.
