Regional Sports Fee

How can I get out of paying the Regional Sports Fee? We have no interest in sports and I object to paying over $11 a month for some thing I have no interest in.

How can I get out of paying the Regional Sports Fee? ...

As long as your TV service includes Regional Sports channels you'll have to pay the Regional Sports fee. The only way to avoid it is to pick a TV package that does not have Regional Sports channels, if you can find one.

See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/most-common-taxes-fees-surcharges-on-your-bill for more information about these.

You will have to check locally if you really want to find another option.   I am 99% sure it will never change in my lifetime.

Hello @gibson1746! Thank you so much for reaching out to us here via our Forums platform. To answer your question, the regional sports fee is an itemized charge that you'll see on your bill. This charge is not a government-mandated fee and will increase from time to time. It's based on our costs of providing the regional sports networks that we carry on our cable systems in each area.

Everyone who subscribes to our cable services are subject to this fee. Is there any other question or concern I may be able to help you with?

I thought the regional sports fee was if we had local sports channels. What plan do I need to move to in order to eliminate the regional sports fee?

@user_c74141 - That is a great question and one I'm sure many are curious about, thank you for asking!. The Regional Sports Fee is a charge included with a Xfinity TV service subscription. For example, it's not included for Xfinity internet only customers. One awesome feature included with Xfinity internet only customers is the Xfinity Flex 4k streaming box with voice remote control. It works great to stream your favorite shows from services such as Peacock, Netflix, and Hulu. If you've found you're mostly streaming content it's a wonderful option. As a quick reminder, you're able to review options for our latest deals on internet, TV, and more by logging in here. Please let me know if this info helps!

You would have to live out in the "Boonies" were Comcast does not service the area.  The question was answered earlier her. Did you bother to read the earlier posts?

Direct TV offers a package without the Regional Sports Fee, so should Comcast but unfortunately they don't.
