Recording the US Open Tennis Tounament

The US Open is currently being carried on ESPN. For whatever reason, ESPN feels compelled to bounce the coverage between their main channel and ESPN2. I have found that the Xfinity "Guide" listings often do not accurately reflect what is actually being shown. Just yesterday, while ESPN2 was showing the tennis tournament, the Guide listed the normal, dreary programs ESPN2 usually carries. This problem is compounded by the fact that the controls for setting up DVR recordings are cumbersome and inflexible. Even though I set the DVR to record "all" US Open Tennis and selected "HD Preferred" instead of just ESPN as the channels to record, the DVR does not make the switch when ESPN, in their wisdom, decides to move the tennis coverage to ESPN2. Perhaps this is not surprising since, as mentioned, the Guide does not update to show actual current programming. And since the Guide is the only way control the DVR, recording does not happen. Comcast needs to improve the Guide to have it actually reflect what happening. (Even better would be if ESPN would knock off the idiotic channel switching and stick to only one.)

While I'm at it, here's another gripe: if Comcast can adjust recordings of NFL games to continue to their conclusion, why can't they do the same with tennis coverage. These matches are even more prone to go overtime than football is.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. I can absolutely understand the frustration if a tennis match goes over but you miss the end! You can always set up the DVR to record the next program that is after the tennis match to ensure that you don't miss a single thing.

I have an even more egregious problem. I program the DVR to record ESPN2 (Tennis Live from Australian Open), and the next day , I see that it recorded NOTHING. MAKES ME WONDER WHY WE PAY  ALL THIS MONEY FOR USELESS SERVICE. January 25, 2022

I have a more serious problem. We program the DVR box to record ESPN2 (Live from Australian Open tennis), which starts recording at 9pm our time. So, we got to bed, and when we check the next morning NOTHING got recorded. This has happened  for the last 3 episodes. This happened with a previous tournament and ultimately the Comcast technicians said they could not fix it.   So, two questions: Why can't Comcast fix it? and 2. Why are we paying all this money for ZERO service?   Comcast only provides three hours of live tennis paper day on ESPN/ESPN2..Clearly it wants us to sign up for ESPN+ where the bulk  of action is. Greed seems to be running rampant with this company!  Thanks for listening.
