phillies game not recorded on DVR but carried live

Twice now regular Philies games was not recorded on the DVR. What showed up on the screen was that the game was blacked out because of league contractural agreements or some such. I was able to watch the game live. What is this about? Every other night there was no such problem. I tried to call Comcast but was only referred to the virtual assistant. There was no way to get a live representive tonight. When I called before the representative (from the Phillipines?) Did not understand what I was complaining about.
