Paramount + with Showtime has no Paramount +?

After researching many comments due to being unable to access Paramount + even though my Xfinity cable plan says I have Paramount + with Showtime, it appears that Xfinity’s package for Paramount + with Showtime only includes Showtime and not Paramount +, is that correct? I don’t understand. Is there a separate cheaper package for only showtime or is this the only way to get showtime? Otherwise why am I paying for Paramount + with Showtime if I can’t access Paramount + and if there is a separate cheaper package for Showtime only, which is apparently what I am actually receiving. Please provide some clarification. This makes no sense and seems very wrong!

Hi there and welcome to Comcast @user_hsu001. Thank you so much for reaching out to us regarding your concerns about Paramount+ and showtime. In order to access it via Xfinity, you would need to subscribe to it through us and not Paramount or Showtime directly.

So this means we must pay for the app through Paramount+.

Why does Xfinity offer Paramount+ as a streaming addon but not actually offer the service?    This seems like a misrepresentation of services included in the Xfinity plan.

@XfinityRoberto in response to your answer to my post, I did have Showtime with Paramount+ through Xfinity. My issue was I was unable to access Paramount+ when I was paying for it through Xfinity as you say I should be doing to get the service. When I tried it would not allow me to access shows on Paramount+ unless I subscribed through Paramount+. I have found many similar posts where customers are stating the exact same thing. I have since cancelled Showtime with Paramount+ from my Xfinity plan and subscribed through Paramount+ for the same monthly price of $12.99 and cheaper annual price of $119.99 which I opted for. But now I actually have access to shows on both channels instead of just Showtime as was the case on the Xfinity plan. It is disappointing that Xfinity is misrepresenting what you can get with this subscription. It should just be for Showtime since it does not actually include Paramount+.

I agree. When my Xfinity statement says Showtime and Paramount + I can only get showtime on my TV.  paramount + only comes up with the option to buy at an additional $12.99!  What gives.  Most annoying!  If Paramount + is not included, you should say so when signing up!

I made the original post & have since made changes to my plan. I cancelled Showtime with Paramount+ on Xfinity & purchased it direct through Paramount+. It’s either the same price of $12.99/month, or you can make an annual payment like I did that brings it down to $9.99/month. You get  access to all Paramount+ and Showtime programming. It’s all streaming but I’m fine with that & I can access it on my tv or my devices. I don’t care about losing the live channel on Xfinity if I have access to all the programming instead of just Showtime as was the case with Xfinity. I don’t know why Xfinity is indicating you get Showtime with Paramount+ when all you really get is Showtime. But it’s the only way to get Showtime through Xfinity since they do not offer a lower price option for Showtime only.  Subscribing through Paramount+ is definitely the only way to go if you want access to all

content from both channels.
