NHL/NBA Playoff Games not on ABC

Since we can't watch the NHL or NBA playoff games on ABC in Maryland because of the Scripps/Xfinity contract dispute why can't they show the games on another channel? Say ESPN, TNT, TBS, or NHL network or NBA network, or on one of the 4K channels? The 4K channels are always empty of programming so there is plenty of room for them if they don't want to pre-empt other shows on other channels.  I know we can go on a streaming channel, but I don't want to subscribe just to see a handful of games. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

Hello @user_dlbzo4 I understand your frustrations, but it is up to the networks to decide what to play on those channels, we do not have control over what the networks play on other channels. Thanks for reaching out about the loss of channels owned by E. W. Scripps. This programming is currently unavailable as Comcast’s agreement with the network has expired. Please know Comcast pays programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made that they haven’t accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience.
