Can’t watch Newsmax on xfinity for 1 minute without freezing. Over & over all day. Thought it may have been a CPAC thing but the issue persists for normal programming as well.
Newsmax is the only channel that freezes via the Xfinity app so far.

Greetings, @user_swzber! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with this channel, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.
Can you tell me a little more about what's happening? Does the freezing start and stop randomly, or do you need to change channels or restart your equipment to get it unfrozen? Are you seeing any pixelation or tiling when it freezes, or is it just a still image, as if the show was paused?
In my case it freezes every minute or so and the image is still on screen as if it were paused. The channel has to be reselected / restarted to resume viewing. I’m using the Xfinity app with a Roku 4k stick.
interestingly we had a network problem in our area on 2/19/25 about the same time this issue started here: here’s the text message I received:
Hi, it's Xfinity Assistant.
We've identified a network performance issue that may be affecting your Xfinity service and needs to be repaired right away. We're actively working to fix it by 02/19/2025 03:40 PM. We'll do our best to minimize disruption in the area. During this time, you could experience a service interruption at <address> We apologize for the inconvenience and will text you when the issue is resolved.

We are having the same problem just started about a week ago. We can only watch Newsmax for 2 minutes before it freezes and we have to switch to another channel and go back for another 2 minutes! This is very frustrating as we watch Newsmax daily but it is now impossible on Xfinity!! Xfinity this needs your attention ASAP!

This seems like a widespread issue as there's at least one related thread. How do we all get refunded for our subscriptions we're all paying for? This issue is going on a week now and still is not fixed?
@user_swzber Can you tell us what icons you see to click? Do you see anything at the bottom of your screen or any live chat options to click?

user_ah9mhx We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. This is definitely not the experience we want for our valued customers. I would love to see how we can help resolve the issue with Newsmax freezing. Can you clarify how you are watching it? Are you using an Xfinity cable box, or using the Xfinity Stream app to view your programming? Also, just so we aren't asking you to repeat any troubleshooting you may have already done, can you share with me what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far?

I wrote to newsmax and told them what xfinity is doing - hopefully newsmax investigates it - maybe people on here should write newsmax too - newsmax could prob file charges on them for blocking paying customers that have newmax as part of their channel lineup and are being blocked from watching it
I did the same. I also called Newsmax this morning and the representative said that they were aware of the problem and are working to fix it. However, as usual, no estimate as to how long this would take. The hamster wheel continues to turn.
I called Saturday evening and got scammed into upgrading my package! Grrrr “ They said I had an old package and the frequency for these channels have changed and that it would 100% fix my issue.” I asked him so many others have old packages too? He couldn’t answer that one. After he “had us all set up” I told him that it didn’t fix the issue it’s still freezing and that I was very upset about this entire process he left the chat! How bout those apples! I saved the entire conversation and do plan to follow up. Just don’t get caught in the same trap as I did. I have no other alternatives so I’m pretty much stuck with them for now at least the new package was a tad bit cheaper. Although it doesn’t make what he did right! I hope Newsmax can get something done about this!
wow thanks for the post and totally typical of what they do to people - they lie all the time - sorry that happened and again thanks for the heads up - they left the chat - lovely - yea can't even speak in person to anyone there anymore - they really are very bad
I just put on NewsMax, I am not having any issues with access. We would love to help you get this sorted out.
Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.
To send a Direct message: Click "Sign In" if necessary • Click the "Direct Message" icon • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears.

I've been having the same issue using the Xfinity Streaming app on a Roku smart TV. It's been for at least a week now, and Newsmax is the only channel I've found that it happens to. It's so frustrating to pay so much for Xfinity and see this is a bigger, unresolved problem.
user_ac325d Good morning! Thank you for taking the time to reach out to our Xfinity Community Forums Team regarding Newsmax. I can see how this would be a frustrating experience. I would be happy to help you get the issue ironed out. To get started, can you please send a Direct Message with your name, the service address, and User ID you are using for your Xfinity Stream App?
Click "Sign In" if necessary Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there. As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list. A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window Press Enter to send it

Totally agree - it’s the only channel it does it on - Xfinity app on all TVs - they are doing it on purpose for sure

My Newsmax is freezing on Xfinity also after 1 minute, the only channel doing it. Considering alternative provider.

Does Xfinity/Comcast care? Are they doing anything? [Edited: "Political"]

Hello everyone,
There was a problem on the Stream app for Newmax channel.
Error has now been cleared, and the app should work properly.
Please try the app again to view the channel.
Thank you, for your patience.
