New ESPN app

With the new ESPN app coming out on August 21, will I be able to use my Xfinity account to live stream using that service?

I asked the same question a few threads down... I don't think Comcast has made an official statement yet, but I'm really hoping so!

adam_WM Thanks for reaching out about the ESPN streaming app. This is the information we have at this time about their app: The ESPN streaming app is available on compatible X1 TV Boxes and Xumo Stream Boxes, requiring Xfinity Internet service and either ESPN as part of your Xfinity TV service or a subscription to ESPN+. Users can access live and On Demand content from various ESPN channels, including ESPN3 and ESPN+. To watch, users must log in with their TV provider credentials or subscribe to ESPN+. The app offers a range of sports programming, including live events and original content. Note that certain older TV boxes are not compatible with the app. Hope this helps answer your question.

Please see the link below about the new service I am referencing. I have seen multiple reports of most cable networks including this through authentication. Xfinity is not among them, I hope they will be in the near future.

I have no information about any "new" app though to be able to confirm if it will be the same as the current app.

The new ESPN app launches tomorrow and is the host of all WWE PLEs so authentication thru my xfinity account is essential to me.  According to reporting xfinity is not one of the providers that will give us access thru authentication at this point.  Hopefully they remedy this before September or I’ll be looking at other options.

user_7m2gnf Just checking in. Since the new app has launched have you had any issues with the authentication?

It's not espn+ that everyone is asking about. It's the new espn unlimited app that just started last week. We need comcast to make a deal so everyone can access all the features of it, through authentication, including wwe premium live events. Make a deal very soon.

You are exactly right. It is like Xfinity is clueless that ESPN rolled out a new platform last week.  The Wall Street Journal listed a variety of Xfinity competitors who are already providing the new APP to its customers.  But once again, Xfinity buries their head in the sand and pretends this great new ESPN offering does not exist.  It is almost as if they want to lose all their TV bundle customers and simply focus on Peacock. We have become nothing but an irritant to Xfinity.

user_cac9fc I love the ability to sign into network websites and apps with my Xfinity credentials! You can keep an eye on all the netowrk sites we support here. We're working to expand access and content choices for even more options in the future!

Does having all linear espn channels through xfinity and an espn+/select subscription amount to the same amount of access/content as espn unlimited or is there content exclusive to unlimited? i.e. Will wwe ple be available to those with cable subs/select plan or only if shelling out the full $30 for the linear channels we already get just to get the other content?

@user_c28jzu I'm 99.9% positive we will need unlimited for WWE  PLE's. I want unlimited just as much as everyone else. We should have access if we already subscribe to the espn channels on cable.

The new ESPN Unlimited app is a separate entity from ESPN. Currently, if you sign in with your Xfinity credentials, it will allow you to access what channels or content you already subscribe to.

Why can't anyone at Xfinity just answer the question. IDC what package we have IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE BRAND NEW ESPN UNLIMITED APP THAT ALLOWS US TO WATCH LIVE PLE'S LIKE WWE SPECIALS. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY WWE FANS YOU ARE ABOUT TO LOSE BECAUSE WE CAN NOT WATCH ALL THE LIVE PLE'S ON COMCAST XFINITY LIKE WE WERE ABLE TO UP UNTIL & INCLUDING CLASH IN PARIS??WE CAN NO LONGER WATCH, WRESTLEMANIA LIVE, SUMMERSLAM, ROYAL RUMBLE ,ETC .ETC ON OUR TV'S WHICH WE USE TO HAVE VIA PEACOCK.??  IT ISN'T THAT COMPLICATED AND YOU NEED TO ADDRESS IT ASAP! WE PAY WAY TOO MUCH ALREADY FOR YOUR SERVICES.THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! WWE FANS UNITE! MAKE COMCAST GIVE US THE NEW ESPN UNLIMITED EXCLUSIVE APP & GIVE HIGHER TIER CUSTOMERS A DISCOUNT!! PAY ATTENTION! PEOPLE ARE UPSET

I agree with the other posters! This needs to be sorted out and resolved ASAP! Wrestlepalooza is only a week and half away and we need to be able to watch it through Xfinity.

Jlo57 Thanks for reaching out! As of now, the ESPN Unlimited plan is not available for purchase through Xfinity. Customers can still access ESPN channels they are subscribed to as part of their Xfinity TV package by using their Xfinity credentials in the ESPN app.

This is insane. I'm paying $300/month, with no premium channels mind you, and you guys can't get off your [Edited: "Language"] and make this deal so we can watch the WWE PLEs? Get it together Xfinity.

This is all so frustrating. Xfinity charges us all this money each month for an inferior product that they cannot even explain. Their people respond with the same generic ignorant reply which, as usual, tells us nothing. These people cannot even keep up with technology. ESPN wants to give us everything ESPN+ offers if we already subscribe to all ESPN channels through the bundle. However, Xfinity has a beef with ESPN because some customers are cutting the cord and buying ESPN directly from Disney.

Is it any wonder Comcast stock is trading at a 52 week low?  I am done paying $300 per month for the services I get.
