Hello user_gz9wz8, to see what specifically is included in your lineup, I'd have to review your account. Have you lost access to those channels or receiving an error message when you try to view them?

User_ee937a explained it perfectly, we got that message, and it is not clear what we will have on the effective date.

user_gz9wz8, I Got it; thank you all for the confirmation. We recently announced that NBC Sports Boston and New England Sports Network for our North Division customers will move from the Popular TV, Extra, Sports & News genre pack, and Starter Latino TV to the Ultimate TV package. This means customers who don’t subscribe to the Ultimate TV package will not be able to view this programming officially as of January 14, 2025. Impacted customers will receive a one-time RSN credit, and moving forward, the RSN fee on their monthly bill will be reduced. If you are interested in the Ultimate TV plan, we can also help review any current promotions.

I am not that user but I assume he/she received the same message I did. Those of us who are on the "Popular Plan" received this message:

"As part of our new programming agreements with NBC Sports Boston and New England Sports Network (NESN), both networks will move to our Ultimate TV and Digital Preferred packages on Tuesday, January 14. As a result effective January 14, you'll no longer have access to NBC Sports Boston and NESN as part of your current TV package."

This change in service was also reported in Boston media.

Nobody who I contact at Xfinity seems to know about this change.  What I and the original poster want to know are our options to retain these channels and what is the cost of these options. When I went on line it told me I would have to pay an additional $70/month which if true would send me to YouTube Tv.

@user_ee937a How did you get that message? Did Xfinity E-Mail you because I cannot find any indication that Xfinity has sent out an official notice.

Tek Yes, for our grandfathered channel lineups, NESN will be available in the Digital Preferred channel lineup. It will not be available to Digital Starter or Extra customers. They will need to upgrade to Digital Preferred to continue to receive the channel.

Add me to the list of customers who just called the 800 line and got a rep that knew nothing about this situation. I presently have the popular plan and the regional sports page. I went to Xfinity.com/upgradeTV and walked through the upgrade path and it was like $70 more - not $20. Are there any other options - (other than going to Verizon)?

Thank you for reaching out to us here @user_ee937a. NBC Sports Boston and New England Sports Network for our North Division customers will move from the Popular TV, Extra, Sports & News genre pack, and Starter Latino TV to the Ultimate TV package. This means customers who don’t subscribe to the Ultimate TV package will not be able to view this programming officially as of January 14, 2025. If you would like us to check on any options to add the Ultimate tier to your service send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service.

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

@XfinityJeniece thank you for clarifying this. Much appreciated and happy they are leaving it in the top tier legacy plans.

This change is absolutely stupid. I pay for the extra sports package, and NESn is being taken away. Why would this be changed? Why would the local sports be taken away from the local area?

@user_bladebearr because comcast wants more money, after just increasing their fees a month ago.  Time to get a HD  antenna to stop paying for bad service and products. IMHO

@fedup978 An HD antenna is no help with NBC Sports Boston, is it?

@fedup978 a lot of this has to do with NESN and NBC Sports. They are the greedy parties causing this. The price of cable programming is dictated largely by the channels and not by Xfinity.
