MSG 2023-24

Still can't reach agreement with msg? It is beyond a travesty that our local cable company cannot provide programming for four local professional sports teams for going on three years now. What's worse is that you provide no information regarding another upcoming season which will be another lost season. Fubo aint cheap on top of your bill!

“Frustrating.” “Travesty.”
May I please throw “indefensible” into the words used to describe this situation?

Thank you, Xfinity, for telling us that baseball is the only sport we are allowed to watch.

P.S. The thank you was facetious.

It really is ridiculous.  I was told by a Comcast agent, before the 2023-2024 hockey season started, that Comcast was going to broadcast MSG again because they were "really close" to an agreement.  Not so much...  Why don't you allow me to pick what channels I want to get and tell me how much that would cost.  The "packages" don't make any sense, and I don't watch 90% of the channels I do get, because they don't interest me or are in another language.

Totally agree!

Government regulators need to step in and stop the thievery!

@user_sudik2 I can understand how frustrating it is to lose a channel you enjoy. You can click here to learn more about our programming agreements.

We don't offer ala carte channel packages, however we are always happy to help you review your services to see if we have any other options available. We've recently begun our NOW TV, which is a streaming package that offers a variety of channels. It isn't traditional cable service though and you wouldn't get your local channels, thought most of the time you can get those with an antenna. You can click here to learn more about NOW TV and see if it may meet your needs.

If you'd like to discuss making changes to your account we're here to help. Please send us a DM with your full name and address to get started to Xfinity Support.

According to Comcast, MSG/James Dolan is charging Comcast the same rate to broadcast MSG as it does per se Cablevision (Bergen County), and the MSG viewership here in Ocean County is much less than Bergen County, than yes, Comcast is correct to ask for a pro-rated rate based on those facts. So, if Comcast is telling the truth, then this falls a Dolan. It was suggested to get a streaming service, but that gets expensive. But what gets me is, we don't get MSG, however, we are still considered in the New York market, and if the games are televised on MSG, hence we still get blackout on most national televised games (ESPN, TNT, TBS, etc), ESPN+, the NHL and the NBA channel, and I think it's a complete blackout on NHL Center Ice and NBA League Pass. That is not fair. That is double jeopardy. Comcast president Bill Connors needs to sit with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and NBA commissioner Adam Silver and ask them to step in and mediate with Dolan, if not, then Bettman and Silver needs to remove Ocean County out of the New York market, at least by minimum, we can watch national televised games.

It is absolutely asinine that in 2024 the consumer is left out in the cold while cable providers and individual networks play games of chicken at our expense. Never mind the bait-and-switch of moving channels like TCM to higher-tier sports packages...then preventing you from actually seeing "sports". Thankfully it appears the MSG+ app has a monthly subscription fee that is 1/3 of what Fubo charges, which I'll be looking into. As soon as I can cut the cord, I'm gone. This Stockholm Syndrome programming service needs to come to an end. And I'll save the censor bots from having to work by adding [Edited: "Language"].

What gets me the most out of not having msg channel is that at no point did I save any money on my bill when they removed it.   They claim they were spending so much money having it in the tv lineup but then when they contract fell thru and they removed it they didn’t pass any savings into the customer.    They ate it.   Now I will say they credited me like 3.00 for like two months because of me complaining but really.   They can do better.    I have msg app during nhl season now but gets costly.
