@user_e6naid You're confusing The Movie Channel with Movies!. The Movie Channel has always been premium, like HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc. People on this thread are talking about a different channel called just Movies!, which has never been a premium channel.
Hello user_e6naid. Please follow this link, to see your local channel lineup https://www.xfinity.com/support/local-channel-lineup

I contacted Xfinity last night and a customer service agent told me that channel 343 would be back on my line up in24 hours and he would send a notice to the billing department to give me a discount for the inconvenience. He said I was not the only one to complain about the missing channel. I called Xfinity back tonight and I was told that channel 343 is gone from my line up and will not be returning. I was told the customer service agent I talked to last night was misinformed. What a complete waste of time calling Xfinity.
Typical of Xfinity.. one person tells you one thing and another tells you something completely different.. if they don't bring channel 343 back I'm DONE with Xfinity...
@user_nr7oxl Yes Xfinity customer service is worthless, most of them are not trained so they give you the "back in 24hrs" baloney to shut you up. They have the worst customer service ever and you get agents that tell you all different stories. I think Xfinity removed it to put it in a more expensive package. They have already added $10 a month for what I pay for having the ROOT sports channel in my area and that is only after having it a few months. I also stream Peackock for $7 a month with no commercials and also if you are an Amazon Prime member, they have all sorts of good movies on their streaming channel
Hi there and welcome to Comcast @user_p73j9f. Thank you so much for reaching out to us about your missing channels concerns. You are in the right place and we are happy to assist you today. Now if there is going to be any channel changes, we always notify customers 1-2 billing cycle early.

Be aware that stations, especially smaller ones that often carry some of these networks, do NOT inform cable/satellite services of changes. Comcast may only find out about it when you do.
Greetings, @awebbiz! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with this channel, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.
It's possible the programming was changed in your area. Is the channel gone completely, or was it replaced with a different channel? Are you getting any sort of error message when you try to tune to channel 343?
Movies! Channel and Story TV have completely disappeared. They were there the previous evening and disappeared the following morning. There is no error message. No replacement that I am aware of. Spoke with Xfinity customer service and the agent had zero knowledge of Movies! Channel. Over the last year or so I have lost included access to Peacock, TCM, Root Sports, Dest. America, Movies! and Story TV. There may be more, I don't know.
@XfinityJamesC There are no error messages. The channel does not show up in the guide and a search for that channel name shows no replacement. The website for the channel still lists 338 as the location on Xfinity.
@Ricohguy I understand the frustration. The content available is provided to us by the networks. The programming availability, pricing, and broadcast are subject to their discretion. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.

Two local broadcast channels (MOVIES! & STORY) in Seattle have been dropped from the Xfinity channel lineup. The channels 44.2 KFFV-DT2 MOVIES!, 44.3 KFFV-DT3 HEROES, 44.5 KFFV-DT5 METV+, 44.6 KFFV-DT6 STORY, and the new channel 44.7 KFFV-DT7 METOON are not anywhere to be found on the Seattle Xfinity channel lineup. I can still get these channels on one TV not connected to a Xfinity box using an antenna, so they are still local broadcast channels. How can Xfinity justify charging a Broadcast TV Fee then not including local broadcast channels in their channel lineup?
Are you getting your local news channels, like ABC, NBC, CBS, CW, FOX on cable? Those are your local channels that broadcast all those local shows. BROADCAST channels. On cable.

Movies! that was on channel 343 is KVOS Seattle. If you go to their website it still shows Comcast Seattle channel 343 with a full schedule of movies. It's part of ME-TV that has both KVOS, Comcast channel 21 and KFFV that was channel 343. I've sent a message on their Facebook account to find out why Comcast dropped the KVOS channel but have heard nothing back.
Please return channel 343, it's always been my favorite channel on Xfinity, especially Sunday night Film Noir 🎥. They removed it without any warning whatsoever, Xfinity owes us all a REFUND..
Bring back moviestvnetwork and story channel. Both are great watching. The moviestvnetwork is what I watch every night for real movie actors practicing their craft.

awebbiz Hello, I am happy to be of assistance. Do you still have questions about channels?

@zephmarie I, too, contacted Movies!. Unfortunately unless Comcast decides to reverse the decision to drop the channel from their lineup, Movies! can't do anything about it. Notice the Comcast employees who respond to comments on this forum keep saying the same statement over and over- that we were notified of the change in the April-May billing statement. Nothing else about evaluating the impact of the change they made or passing any savings they obtained from dropping the channels back to their customers, or discussing with their managers.
Please check previous posts to find links to see if it is even available on a LOCAL TV STATION. If it isn't, then Comcast can do nothing. If it is, then it is up to Comcast and the station to come to a retransmission agreement. That would probably mean an INCREASE in your Broadcast Fee.
I must have missed where Comcast said the decision was not theirs. They renegotiate contracts and decided not to continue with the channel in our lineup. Check out the forum titled Channel 343, Channel 344. The Comcast employee said that is what happened, but I know sometimes we receive different answers from them.

Looks like the Movies Channel (formerly 343) is a paid add-on now. What a surprise, right? I can't find what happened to 344, Story TV.

That link has nothing to do with the Movies! broadcast network. There is a CABLE network called The Movie Channel, but it is not related.

KVOS is in Bellingham and they own FXM and KVOS.
Their phone number is [Edited: "Personal Information"]
And if Xfinity and KVOS get enought complaints maybe we'll see a programing miracle.
Please let me know if you have any luck with them...
