missing favorite channel list

Last night (Tues. Aug. 18th, 2026) my husband noticed that our "favorite" channel list is gone. Poof! Just disappeared. What happened? Now I guess we have to go back to put them back on. Why'd this happen? Do we need a new box?

?

This morning I manually put the favorites back on, but I want to know why this happened? Is this an Xfinity glitch? Is a new box needed? Please explain.

My favorite list has disappeared as well. It happened yesterday Aug 18, 2026. I have had this list for a decade and all of a sudden it is gone. What have you done Comcast? Searching the internet I see that this has happened to a considerable amount of your customers. You give no help, no support, no answers. Just "re-add our favorites". This takes a lot of time to do. For the amount of money that we are paying you we should be entitled to better service or some answers. I pay over $300 per month for your services. I am so tired of your very poor customer service. I will search for an alternative to Comcast.

@user_7ttk4a This morning I manually added back our favorites. Yes, it took a bit of time. I'd like to know why it happened in the first place. Is this an Xfinity glitch or is our box old & outdated that we need a new one. As for customer service, Facebook is probably worse. It's been months that my "contact list" had disappeared (since April). I've notified FB numerous times & no surprise ... nothing. No response back.

I found a work-around by asking Claude AI (nobody at Xfinity knew about the system-wide issue this morning, or about any user solutions, BTW). If you log on here on your computer (couldn't do this on my Android phone) : https://www.xfinity.com/stream/listings/favorites, you may find that your favorites still live online, though not on the TV box. If they are gone from here also, this won't work. From the above location, go to All Channels (not Favorites). As you scroll down the long long list of channels, your favorites will be starred. Un-star them for a second, then star them back. Then check on your TV, you should have your favorites back. To be honest, when I tried this, not all of my channels returned. So I went back to my PC, got my Favorites on the PC screen and have taken pix of my Faves. This took about 8 or so screen shots for me, given my many favorites. When I return to my TV this evening I'll get them all back.  Whether or not they will stay is something else.  Good luck with your efforts, as I said I can't confirm that this work-around is 100% successful.
