Lost wmar local abc channel in carroll county Maryland.

Because comcast didn't make a deal with the owner of our local abc wmar channel we now have no abc channel. However we have the Washington dc abc channel wjla in sd only.  I pay for hd service.  Why can't we get that channel in hd also? All of my abc dvr recordings didn't record because of this snd i can't even watch on demand either

Why can't we just get wjla abc Washington dc in hd?

We already get it in sd.

I pay for hd service and local channels

That would be a good solution to this problem. Even if temporary until negotiations are completed

@XfinityJosephA if Xfinity was doing all they could to provide the best viewing service Xfinity would have prepared their customers for this BIG change to their channel lineup.  It’s unconscionable that absolutely no advance notification was provided.  We are paying for HD and our bill was increased in January.

The very least you could have done was provide steps for resetting DVR services that were aligned to ABC HD.  It’s infuriating that you’ve left the channel in the guide, the DVR then records the splash page displayed on a “dead” channel.  In addition the DVR defaults to HD.  Took some effort but I finally found a way to peg the DVR to the low def channel for recording.

We’ve also lost the ability to view ABC shows on demand, we are forced to subscribe to Hulu to view missed programs.  At some point continuing to pay the high cost to utilize a broken service will no longer make sense.
