live tv programs looping
Sorry if the topic is wrong - there aren't a lot of choices.
Do you remember trying to play a scratched phonograph record that repeated the same few seconds every time the needle hit the scratch? Well I've been seeing something similar happen to LIVE programming intermittently for weeks.
A live program suddenly jumps backward and replays the last ~20 to up to ~100 seconds - including any commercials that were within the span. That same segment then continues to replay again and again, sometimes for many minutes. Then, as suddenly as it starts, the program resumes ... in progress so the content is lost between the time the loop started and the time the program resumed normally.
This has occurred many times on different channels and at different times of day. Usually it clears quickly, but the worst episode lasted for almost half an hour. I have seen it on "normal" cable channels and on Xfinity's free streaming channels (I don't have any pay channels). So far it has not happened during DVR recording playback, but that simply could be coincidence.
I have an X1 system with 3 televisions. We notice it most often on the one family set (which is on a small satellite box), but it has occurred at some point on all of them. Refreshing and resetting the boxes has not helped.
Has anyone seen this before? I tried searching in the KB but didn't find anything relevant.
Thanks.

Thanks for taking time to post on our Xfinity Community Forums page, @gn2e3. I'd like to do everything I can to help with your picture quality issues. Best thing to do would be to make sure that all your coax connections are finger tight, this includes at the wall and the back of your equipment, and splitters. If you have a house amplifier (looks like a splitter but connects to a power outlet) try resetting it by unplugging it from the power outlet for 20-30 seconds and plugging it back in. If you have already tried these steps, or try them without success, please send a direct message including your full name and service address, and we can get started anytime.
