Live TV Guide is wrong

Live TV Guide says CHIPS will be showing on channel 256 buts it’s CSI instead. This has been happening many times per week for months.

Rw7777 Thanks for reaching out to us here on Forums about the TV guide issue. Is it just channel 256 showing incorrectly?

@Rw7777 The network is who sends the programing details to us. We may have to put in a ticket. Is this the only show that is incorrect or do you notice more shows being incorrect?

I've the same problem with Channel 241 Dabl.  The Dabl TV schedule shows a different listing than the Xfinity Guide.

Moesha is scheduled for 4am and 4:30am but Judge Judy records.  I'm happy that Judge Judy is recording but the incorrect labeling makes watch difficult.  A paper list must be used to tell someone which mislabeled programs to watch in order to get the desired program.

The Parkers were scheduled for 5a but Moesha was recorded.   One on One was scheduled for 3:30am but Hot Bench was recorded.   The recordings were all done on June 26th.   The recordings match the Dabl TV schedule but don't match the Xfinity Guide.

So often lately the tv program guide is wrong as to which episode is showing on multiple channels, multiple times. What’s up with that??

user_4npzbl If it is widespread across a majority of channels then that is something we can look into. If it is just a few specific networks or programs then it is usually an issue on the broadcaster's end. Each network determines what is listed there based on what they plan to show. We have little control over the actual content of the guide.

The Comast/Xfinity Guide being inaccurate has been a chronic problem for some time.  My stategy is to find another Guide that is specific to your show or program.    Then record the time and station/channel on the Comcast/Xfinity Guide that corresponds to the other more accurate Guide.   Sometimes you may have to record two or three programs to get the desire program. Don't worry what the Comcast/Xfinity Guide says and just watch the show you wanted to see.  Sometimes you have to try a guide and see if it works.  While this does not work all the time, the success rate is good enough to keep up the practice.  Please also note: DABL Channel 241 repeats shows that appear on other channels.  If a series recording is set, and the repeat is less than 45 days old, the DVR will skip over the DABL broadcast program.  Another strategy is to record multiple channels when you think your desired program could be on multiple channels.  This technique is particularly good with Football games. A day or two before the game, the Comcast/Xfinity Guide can catchup with the actual game being broadcast,  but there is no guarantee.  Again don't worry about the Guide description,  just watch to see if you got the desired game.  I hope these stategies help.
