Intermittent sound on certain channels

BBC has become unwatchable due to the sound dropping out every few seconds. Now AMC is having the same issue, both channels. This happens on all TVs in the house, and does not happen during commercials. What can be done about this?

Check your cables are tight, remove any unnecessary splitters and possibly have a tech out to troubleshoot further. Channels come in on different frequencies and something is impeding those 2 channels, maybe others you don’t watch or get

Thank you for posting this.  It is exactly what is happening to me. Has been happening with BBC Amrica for a few weeks andnow this past week on AMC.  I have checked the cable and everything is tight.  I've reset the cable box also, but it still is happening.  It is happening on an analog TV.  Not on my main digital TV.

Also the commercials are fine here too.  I have all new connections (6-7 months old), and new cable wires also.

Thanks for the suggestion Tendawwgs. Unfortuantely it didn't help. The sound is still cutting out on those two channels, except during commercials.  The TV it occurs on is an old analog TV (Non HD) and I have an old Motorola cable box with it.  There is no DVR.  Can it be the cable box? It is old. Although all otger channels are great. Interestingly, those two channels work fine on my main TV, which is a Smart TV (HD).   I did press the "A" button and was able to reset the cable box, but no luck.  Your help is appreciated.
