I think this should work: Bring up your Xfinity Settings page on your TV (on mine, I press the "Xfinity" button on my remote, then scroll to the right until something that looks like a sprocket is selected) Select "Preferences", then "General" Highlight "Prefer Best Available Resolution", and switch the value to "Off" It says that it applies to video playback, but I think it applies to selecting a channel as well.
