How to opt out of Amber Alerts on Xfinity TV
I want to know if it is possible to opt out of Amber Alerts on Xfinity TV service. We were watching a recorded episode of Jeopardy last night and an Amber Alert came on which interrupted the show and the show did not resume from the point where it was interrupted so we missed that part of the show. I know some people will say Amber Alerts are very important and I understand that they are and I am ok to get them on my mobile device because I may be outside my home and may actually see the vehicle mentioned in the alert. But when I am eating dinner and watching TV, an Amber Alert is useless because I will be going to bed in a couple of hours and the next day there is no way I am going to remember any of the information contained in the Amber Alert.

It is too bad that you can't opt out. Last night I was watching a game on Center Ice something I pay extra for and the telecast was interupted at least 6 times in about 45 minutes and the last 3 times to tell us that the Amber Alert had been cancelled.
I understand the importance of them but one alert to tell us what the situation is and one alert to tell us that it has been cancelled but it is not necessary to interupt programming 6 times in about 45 minutes to repeat the same thing over and over.
I know that Comcast has no control over this but the people who do need to get clue about overdoing it with these announcements.
