HBO Max says subscription through Xfinity has expired, but it's in my service plan

HBO Max is included in my Xfinity plan, but when I try to see HBO Max content I get an error message saying the subscription has expired.  [EDIT: Language*]?

Hey there @user_ed5de7 thanks for connecting with us here in the Xfinity Support Forums. The first thing we would recommend would be confirming your account subscription;

Access the X1 Manage Channels App

  1. Press the xfinity button on your remote control.

  2. Using the arrow buttons on your remote control, scroll right to highlight Apps and press OK.

  3. Using the arrow buttons, scroll down to the section in the Apps menu titled Xfinity.

  4. Using the arrow buttons, scroll right to highlight Manage Channels and press OK.

  5. Once the Manage Channels app has loaded, the Offers page will display a list of Premium ChannelsSubscription On Demand ChannelsSports Packages and International Channels.

Note: Channels to which you are currently subscribed will already be check-marked and will appear as "Subscribed (with a price)."

If after verifying your subscripion you see a Can’t Verify Subscription error message when playing content or trying to log into the HBO Max app on your Xfinity X1 TV Box or Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box this is likely to happen when the Xfinity password has been reset or HBO is blocked via Parental Controls.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Sign in to https://comca.st/3sEzL6s using your primary Xfinity ID .
    • If you have Xfinity Flex, go on to step two.
    • If you have Xfinity X1, go to https://comca.st/3yLiigF and unlock HBO if it’s locked.
    • If you’re using a mobile device, this setting can be found at My Account > Settings > Xfinity ID, Password & PINs > Parental Controls > Network Sites and Apps > Lock specific channels.

  2. Go to https://comca.st/3wsKZfy.
    • If you’re already signed in, sign out first.
    • If you’re using a mobile device, you’ll need to use the HBO Max app to proceed.
    • If you don’t want to use the HBO Max app at this time, jump ahead to step six.
  3. To sign back in, click Sign in. Do not enter your email and password in the sign in screen. Instead, choose the SIGN IN WITH A PROVIDER option.

  4. Choose XFINITY from the list of providers. It will automatically sign in at this step and you should be able to play content on https://comca.st/3wsKZfy or on the HBO Max app without errors.

  5. If your Xfinity TV Box is already signed in to the HBO Max app through the provider option, you should be able to play content without errors. If not resolved, continue on to the next step.

  6. Sign out and sign back in to the HBO Max app on Xfinity TV Box using the SIGN IN WITH A PROVIDER option.
