Grouped channels
Comcasts channel lineup exists in a few forms--the basic SD followed by HD (e.g, channels 2 through 593 for mainly SD programming, with HD being 700 through 900 or so). Then the channels are provided in groups starting at 1000 (e.g, news channels in a block) which I assume is done to make it easier to find channels of the same type. This latter grouping seems to have channels that only exist in this grouping (e.g., Recipe.tv, Comedy.tv). Is there any sort of guide that indicates what channels are specific to this group? Comcast never seems to notify us of adding new channels to this lineup.

Here's an article that explains the channel neighborhoods. At the end is a link that will take you to your channel lineup.

The weird thing is, contrary to what the article says, there are channels in the grouped format that do not exist in the 1-999 format. E.g., in my area channel 1495 (ZLVND) does not exist in the 1-999 format. Channel 1483 is Recipe.tv, but this does not exist in the 1-999 format. There are others as well. I ran searches of the programs on those channels and they only appear in the grouped format.

Some are IP channels only.
