FETV

What happened to FETV in Sacramneto and San Francisco? Another great  GREAT network gone. Now i'm having withdrawls. Put it back on! Also why don't you carry AXS TV? Again another great channel!

Try MeTV. I watched that when I was with ATTUverse much more often that I would watch FETV.

Any you mention Wild Wild West...MeTV has that.

At least here in the western Chicago suburbs, there is a network called "Folk TV". It has "The Lone Ranger" and other shows, along with religous programming.

No, Wild Wild West is not on METV and hasn't been for a while sad to say.

This response is primarily for the 2 posters who defend Comcast  incessantly.

Why does this topic say "Solved"? I hardly think so!  First, I wish to say I'm not trying to be argumentative and I don't wish to get in a you-know-what contest, but I'd like to share with you an email I received from FETV (my area to which they refer, is Bay Area, California):

"Thank you for contacting us. For about a year, we leased the channel space in your area. However, the economic downtown forced a difficult decision to temporarily vacate your market. In an attempt to return, we have made multiple offers to compensate Comcast. However, they still refuse to carry FETV, despite launching networks that are not safe for family viewing! Please call 1-800-XFINITY to tell Comcast you want to see FETV in your area.

(....link for newsletter deleted...)

Thank you very much in advance for contacting Comcast, and hopefully we can return as quickly as we can.

Best,

- Team FETV"     (Emphasis added.)  [Note: I think they mean "down turn" instead of downtown.]

They may have left voluntarily, but the plan was only temporary. It is now Comcast who is preventing their return.  I really don't understand why they're being so stubborn. So many people seem to really like and miss this channel. Don't get me wrong. Comcast has some redeeming qualities - but they really need to get this channel back on the air. There is SO VERY LITTLE wholesome TV programming any more. [For the record - I didn't grow up with alot of the programming on FETV (some of the later stuff, yes) - but what's wrong with wanting to watch TV without derogatory language or violence once in a while?]

We also lost ME TV in metro Denver about 6-7 months ago. That was caused by ME TV pulling it from the local station that broadcast it here, but bottom line these were two stations we always watched. Comcast is turning into an expensive wasteland.

FE TV disappeared from Comcast in the metro Denver area today (7/28/20). I assume for the same lease issues discussed above. Tried to call Comcast customer service; spent an hour on the phone, and just got a run around from Comcast. No information at all. They should at least be able to give customers a reason when a channel disappears.

If the carriers can't afford to lease channels and the cable companies like Comcast aren't making any moves to preserve the few channels that actually show decent older television, all of the programming will be snipped up by streaming services. You'd have to be cuckoo not to see how much easier it'd be for one such arm of a larger company to get virtually every TV show from the fifties to the mid-nineties, and how fast we'd all pay such a service even double what they're charging at the expense of all the 900 Comcast channels we'll literally never watch! I can't wait to be able to stop paying for all that, but it's not like they'll pretend to just be an ISP either.

FETV is now also gone from Minneapolis due to Comcast (not FETV). Very sad.

Yes, trying to call Comcast is a waste of time (for basicllay anythin), and they don't even have an email address to contact their customer service. Ridiculous!

The Minneapolis area doesn't even have a weather channel anymore; seems like a public service that should be included in the lineup, especially when bad weather is imminent.

I received some information from FE TV regarding loss of the channel in the metro Denver area.

FE TV states “our channel would no longer be available in your market on Comcast against our wishes”. “We have made multiple offers to compensate Comcast for carriage, but to no avail”.

It actually seems to me that Comcast is trying to drive away customers, or certainly does not care about customer preferences in programming. In place of FETV we now have PTLSD; a Jim Baker religious channel.

Yes, it seems that Comcast does not listen to their customers (they say they do) .

I also tried to give them feedback on losing FETV. If Comcast doesn't want us as customers, just say so upfront.

It could be worse. Here it looks as though Comcast replaced FETV with an all religious channel.
