ESPN HD

One specific HD channel has severe pixelation/large tiling on every Xfinity cable box in my home. All other channels are normal. The same channel works perfectly through the Xfinity Stream app. A system restart has already been performed and did not resolve the problem. Please escalate this for investigation of the RF/QAM channel, signal-to-noise ratio, ingress and uncorrectable errors affecting that channel/frequency. This appears to be a cable/RF issue rather than a TV or individual box issue.

We are experiencing the same issue.  ESPN does not seem to be coming through in HD.  All other channels are.though

Good evening @user_afvsb3! Thank you for providing those details. The fact that the issue is affecting ESPN HD on every cable box, while other channels are working normally and the channel plays correctly through the Xfinity Stream app, is definitely helpful information.

When the pixelation occurs, does the audio also cut out, or is it limited to the video?

Do the on-screen graphics, score display, and ticker remain clear while the video is affected, or does the entire picture break up?

Does this issue happen during commercial breaks?

Have you noticed if this only impacts live games or does it also impact re-runs and other pre-recorded programs?

Thanks. I checked those items more carefully.

The audio glitches at the same time the picture pixelates, and the problem continues during commercial breaks. The entire picture, including the ESPN graphics/ticker, is affected.

This occurs on every Xfinity TV box in my home. Other channels are working normally, and ESPN HD continues to work normally through the Xfinity Stream app. The equipment has already been restarted without improvement.

Given those results, could you please escalate this and check the signal/path carrying ESPN HD to my home, including signal quality, SNR/ingress and uncorrectable errors, and determine whether this is affecting the local node/feed rather than an individual box?

Thank you for taking the time to check those details @user_afvsb3! The fact that the audio glitches at the same time the picture pixelates, the issue continues during commercials, and the entire picture (including the graphics and ticker) is affected helps narrow things down. Combined with the fact that every cable box in the home is experiencing the same issue I’d like to take a deeper look.
